Which profession would you like your child to join and why?

Though the children decide for  themselves nowadays, if they ask for your guidance, what would you suggest?

I am single, if I have a child I will  suggest to select the Teaching  profession. It is safe and honorable.

I would want them to be in a profession where they feel happy and want to go to work. To many people go into a profession because they think that's what their parents would want, but then they end up miserable.

I was a teacher and my husband is in education, but I wouldn't push my kids into my profession just because I love it. My son, who is four, often tells me he wants to be a firefighter, a 'grass cutter', and a teacher. If those things make him happy and he can live from the wages, then I say go for it.

My suggestion would be to find something they're passionate about and would want to spend many years doing.

Thanks PracticalMommy, for your opinion. I completely agree with you. Children show the signs of their aptitude, right from their early age and we, as parents and teachers should encourage them to follow their passion and convert into profession.

I would want my child to  choose a profession that would make him happy. A career which would give him joy and fulfillment without causing him stress, grief, and dissatisfaction with life and the "world."  If he is working a job which he truly enjoys he would be successful, he would not mind getting up and going to work.

Having a career that one enjoys is the beginning of a self-fulfilling life. Everything seem to fall into place whether it's forming and maintaining relationships or emotional, mental and spiritual being.

Thanks jodeci, for taking the time to answer this question. I agree with your views that if you enjoy your job.....everything falls into place.
      Thanks again.
