Why aren't my hubs getting any comments?

   Why aren't my hubs getting any comments?
   
   Despite good traffic to my hubs, I just dont get that much in terms of comments. I believe the feedback from comments is very important in terms of editing and improving a hub. What should I do to get more. Thanks in advance

   Hi cuttler, I read somewhere that you can expect a comment after around 300 views. Not everyone is moved enough to make a comment.

   I would say keep writing, but don't let the amount of comments get you down.  I read alot of hubs and don't necessarily respond.  I respond to more questions than hubs, for sure.  I'll stop by and check yours out.  But, I do agree comments always help or at least let you know people are reading your work.  Also, you have not been on HubPages but two weeks.  Don't worry, the comments will come.  Just be careful what you ask for!

      I'll definitely keep writing and hoping for those comments. I guess no one has much to comment on chemistry and other geeky stuff

   Hi! I can definitely feel your pain. Creative writing doesn't get looked at a whole lot, but I really don't care if I get a comment or not. I just love to write and I think you do too, very much. Anyway, I think the factor I can think of at this moment is the usefulness of your hubs. For example, the one hub that deals with the courses required for Pyschology for Graduate Students is useful, don't get me wrong. However, and I'm trying to be practical here and not mean, how many people on HP or outside of HP for that matter is looking for a Master's in Psychology?
   
   On the other hand, my stepmom would definitely love to read your articles as she is a Chemist by profession and a supernerd (pardon me, but it's true)! I'm getting off topic here...
   
   Anyway, I just checked your profile page again and it looks like you are getting (or already gotten) a few comments already. Keep it up and keep writing those hubs!

      Hello again! The hubber above me also makes a valid point. Not is moved to leave a comment and I agree with that. They can love a hub and not say anything.

      Thank you for the encouragement. Who knew moms could be geeks, I'll tyr and chip in some topics on cool stuff, but for now I believe I should first stick to what I know best, once I perfect that, then I can spread my wings to other areas. Cheers

   I comment on hubs that interest me and I have something to say . I had a quick look at yours but the subjects don't interest me enough to even open one of your hubs . If I was hubhoppping I would just move on to the next one that does . However if you were in the forum Reccommend another hubbers hub I would have to click on one to promote you there .Once people that are interested find you then you will eventually get comments .
   When I enjoy a hub I comment, pick a word to click on , vote up and sometimes like it on Facebook.

      Hope this didn't sound awful as you do have some good hubs , just don't have time to read as many as I would like so focusing on those helping me plan my  trip at the moment .

   Thanks loads. Am still new to hub pages and trying to write content specific topics on the things I like most but I believe its time I flapped my wings and explored other more interesting and captivating areas like entertainment or woteva guys are into. Thanks again for the feedback

   Hi Cuttler, comments are only important to a certain extent such as generating internal traffic. The best money making traffic comes from outside from Google searches. Some of my best traffic generating hubs have very few comments. Keep writing what you know about and the traffic will come in time.

      That's true. I have tried writing on a different area and I could barely make the 500 mark. From now on am perfecting my chemistry, just for the fun of it, then after that I'll think of branching out.

   Comments are fun to get, but not necessary. The best way to get lots of comments is to make lots of comments on other people's hubs. If the reason you want comments is to get feedback on how to improve or edit your hubs, that probably won't happen. People just usually don't really critique your hub in comments, they'll just say they like it, or maybe what part they liked. If you want actual advise on your hub, submit it to extreme hub makeover on the forum, but be prepared to take what they dish out.
