Do I really have to be with HP's for six months before I can start earning?

When I attempt to register for the Earnings Program it requires me to apply for Google AdSense, which states I have to be a member for six months first. Every other earnings programs brings me to the Google AdSense registration before it will complete my application. I see others say they started earning immediately.

You do have to have an Adsense account before you can earn from HP and eBay.  You can still  earn from Amazon, with Amazon associates account after sale is made.

As to earnings, before payment, the minimum payout is $50.

I've been hearing they are stricter now, but no one has known the new criteria. I keep hearing ten quality hubs with 500 or more words. It would be nice if we didn't have to wait so long, but I'm glad they told you or I would keep applying and getting denied instead of just waiting it out.

Do they mean a member of Google or of hp for six months?

Sorry, I didn't really confirm anything.

No, I earned my first payout after 5 months. But, since then things have changed. As long as you have written 10 or more good quality hubs that Google would want to put their ads on, I cannot see why it would take so long. I would keep writing and apply a couple of weeks from when you last applied. Good luck!

I joined 2 months ago, and have 35 hubs, and still have not got AdSense approval.  I have applied 5 times so far.  I was flat out denied 3 times saying I didn't have enough content.  The fourth time I was denied with an email saying they have they have the right to refuse any application for no reason.  That one had me nervous.  The last time they told me it was pending approval.  That was 2 weeks ago, and no change so far.  I have read over the criteria I can find, and feel I meet all of it.  Hopefully the approval will come through soon!

There is no rhyme or reason as to why Adsense does what it does.

I didn't apply for Google AS yet, since it said six month wait. I just can't seem to apply to anything else because it defaults back to the AdSense sign up.

You only have 4 hubs published.  If you've never had an Adsense account before and want to apply to Adsense using Hubpages as your website, then you need at least 10 hubs, bare minimum. Otherwise, apply to Adsense using another site besides Hubpages.  Do you have a blog?  That would work.

People who earn immediately have had their Adsense account since before they joined.  They may have been using Adsense for years on their own sites or on other revenue sharing websites.

But how do I apply to HP ad program without having the Google AS account?

You actually can't. That's one of the things you have to do before you can earn with hubpages is have an AS account. My advice is to go to blogger, create a blog with 3-4 posts and apply with that. Thats how i got approved.
