What's a good advice for a friend who wants to ask someone out?
My best friend (a boy) has been bugging me for days. He wants tips on how to approach one of the most gorgeous girl in our neighborhood. I just don't know what to say. Though I know his love interest, and I've been approached by several men in the past who invited me on a date, I just can't come up with a concrete strategy to help him win a date and make it worthwhile.
PS: My friend is average when it comes to looks but I believe his main attribute is his kind and honest heart.
Tell him not to be afraid of rejection. Nothing tried, nothing gained. The first step is the hardest but going after the most gorgeous girl in the neighborhood will have more psychological advantages than he realizes. Tell him to take it slow and try talking to her first. That way he can feel out what her personality is like and what her reaction to him might be.
No matter what advice you give him there is probably a 80-90% chance he will be rejected. Based upon what you stated he is (reaching out of his league). "I believe his main attribute is his kind and honest heart." That is not the kind of thing (most) girls and young women make a (top a priority) when it comes to finding a guy. In fact if the girl he is interested in wasn't "gorgeous" would he be dying to ask her out??? Is (he) looking for a girl with an "honest heart"???
Generally speaking like attracts like and water seeks it's own level. A large part of being young is being shallow. It is not until after most people have matured or have had their heart broken a few times that they start to make traits other than good looks, personalilty, and finances a priority. There is a big difference between boyfriend material and husband material.
Having said that my mother use to tell me: "If it ain't worth asking for then it's not worth having." One thing is for certain if he only asks "gorgeous girls" out he'll face a lot of rejection but when he does find a girl who wants to be with him she will be "gorgeous". Successful people get rejected more than unsuccessful people because they keep going after their dreams!
Tell him to go for it. He may only think this girl will reject him. Opposites do attract and unless she is totally stuck on herself it might just work out. A kind and honest heart is far better than a handsome face if one has the choice to make.

Why is it that people who don't have children try to advise parents on how to raise theirs? It just seems that so many people believe that they can give expert advice simply because they have worked with children or have been around them. I'm sure that every parent will agree that being around...
