Do you miss those 'Hand written letters'?

In this age, when almost everything is done on computers---when you have phone calls to wish you on festivals or anniversaries, or e-cards to greet you, do you miss those hand written letters?

Nope, I generally only write and receive letters from friends and family, they are always hand writen and come through the Royal Mail system.  I sometimes get the odd email from business concerns; however, they are unimportant, an email does.  Except the ones that I have instigated buying from, those emails go to the recycle bin via the junk mail folder.

      Hi Mick S!
Thanks for responding to the question. Nice to know that your family and friends do still send hand written letters. Thanks for your answer.

I have to say it is sort of sad not to receive much of the "fun" mail anymore.  Even the amount of Christmas cards I receive has dwindled.  What could be better than a nice hand written letter from an old friend or family member you don't get to see often?!

No, I don't miss them, because they haven't disappeared smile  There's quite a thriving community of penpallers the world over, and I communicate regularly with a few of them.  Some of the nicest times in my life are when I go to collect the post and there is a big fat letter from abroad in there.  And I don't only write letters to 'strangers', I write them to old friends and current friends too - I have a friend who lives just a few miles away, who I see fairly often, but we both like to write letters and receive them, so we write to each other from time to time.

Almost everything is done on computers by some people, but by no means everyone.  There's always hope that the finer things in life will stick around.

      Hi Lady Wordsmith!
Thanks for your response and I am really glad to hear that, you and some of your friends have maintained the tradition of hand written letters. I also love the practice and feel nostalgic to go through my old collection of letters.

Thank you peachpurple, for answering the question!
Even I miss those hand written letters. I have all my previous letters, written by my grand parents, my parents, husband, my siblings and other relatives. They are treasure for me. Thanks!
