Is it worthwhile 'Pinging'?
If so does anyone else do it, how often? Or is it considered amateurish and spammy.
Thank you
I'm curious about the answer to this, as well. I've done it on one article, and think I noticed a bit of a jump in views temporarily.
Nope. Not worthwhile at all.
When you publish a hub and it gets featured, it'll appear on your profile page. Google (and other search engines) will find it there and then crawl your page on its own.
All pinging does it tell the search engines to come visit your page. Since this is already going to happen, it's kind of pointless. Basically the only reason you'd do this is if you created a bunch of spammy backlinks elsewhere on the Internet, and Google wasn't going to find those links any other way.
A better way to make sure that Google finds your hub on time is to tweet about it. This actually has a purpose (telling people about your hub), and has the added benefit of creating a signpost for Google to follow to make sure it finds your hub.

We all know that there's so much competition to rank in search engines, and we've all heard that 'content is king', but what does that *really* mean? What it means is that Google is now placing much more importance on the authority, authorship, relevance and uniqueness of the content we create, very...

While keywords, as part of your article are indeed important to the SEO "thing," and, as part of your article, they should be spelled properly and in the correct grammatical format, the tags you add outside the article are also valuable.I am beginning to suspect, however, that when...
