It's about time that Equality in Marriage was actually equal.

Marriage is a private and/or religious institution which the state has no authority to govern. To legislate against any American and their inherent right to affiliate with whom they choose, whether through marriage or any other personal affiliation, is an overstep of any government and an infringement on the rights of all Americans, and goes against the very principles of limited government set forth by our Founders. It is time that this nonsense is put behind us, and same-sex marriage to be legal in all states. What do you believe?

I think that if this is important to you, you should fight for it. But if you want me to be completely honest, the debate on this subject annoys me because it gets so much media hype despite the fact that it only affects a very small segment of the population. We have huge, monumental issues in this country and the world that are not addressed that affect hundreds of millions of people. These issues are ignored, while people keep magnifying this same-sex marriage issue as if it is the top political concern today. It's sort of distracting us from more important issues.

it is obvious that eveyone who desires to be the same by being different is not capable of being the same.
a preponderence of inequality perpetually exists when individuals demand that something different be the same.
same-sex marriage will never be equal or the same as marriage because it includes the additional term "same-sex" as a boodle attribute.
when it requires a boodle attribute to describe a circumstance that occurs - then a different occasion has been established.
it is the alteration of the term that persists in presenting a diabolical inequality rather than equality of the situation.
    welcome to the real world.

Marriage should be equal for anyone who wishes to marry. It should not be the huge issue it has become because really it is no issue at all. It is a private and personal choice that no one but the two people involved should have any say in.

As I wrote in an Hub it should not be a legal issue for anyone, as there should be no governmental connection to marriage at all. This includes tax issues and includes straight or gay people. Marriage is, and should be, a religious connection and not a legal contract. If you want a legal contract, then make one. Get the government out of the marriage business altogether and the debate goes away, as it is for the tax etc reasons that most are fighting for it. Equality in marriage should be that we are all equally left alone from the legal/governmental side of the equation.
