There are probably just couple of things that you just need to overcome and you'll be fine. Myself, I used to feel to down about my teeth, but then I whitened them and I've never smiled so much since. It's always personal, and something that may get you down may not be something that'd affect another person at all. Only you will be able to solve your own problem. Are you lonely, feel insecure, is there anything at all you think may be getting you down? The last resort would be to go to a doctor because in many cases all tablets will do is mask what lies beneath.

It depends on what is causing the depression. If it is brain chemistry it is unlikely to respond to home remedies, although counseling can help.

If it is situational depression due to something that has happened to you or something that is going on in your life that needs to be addressed.

Definitely talk to your doctor. He/She may have some good ideas for you. Counseling really is very helpful, it gives you a safe, private place to lay out all of the things in your life that might be problematic.

Don't do through this alone, the longer depression goes untreated, the harder it is to treat.  Good luck--please, please reach out for help from your doctor.

Find out what is causing it to begin with if you can. If no reason is present, seek help from a professional. A lifestyle change could be the answer. Proper diet and exercise programs have been known to help others deal with depression. Things like bananas, chamomile tea, and staying busy help. Avoid having to take medication if something else will work because often conditions require these pills to be taken for most of your life.

    Hi lilmissmeg.

Do you know why you are depressed? Is there some event that is bringing you down, or is it just a general unexplained feeling?

i went to your profile page and notice you said you just want to talk about everything. Maybe that's your starting point. Maybe you need to talk ... write ... have people like us listen. Sometimes depression has a lot to do with feeling like you're not being heard.

I looked at your first hub and left a comment and some tips. Do you spend a lot of time playing on gaming consoles? Do you get the chance to get out and spend time with real people too?

Could you join a tennis club or a netball club or some kind of sporting group where you get the blood pumping at least once a week, and have the chance to make friends and socialise?

Let's talk for a bit about what's happening in your life. Lots of hubbers will have ideas for you if you can identify specific problems. It would be a shame to rely on medication if there's a few lifestyle changes that might help.

You might find it is difficult to write as much as you would like on this question page, but you can always go and start a chatty forum thread ... or write lots of hubs that address the issues you face in your life. HP isn't really a blogging site, but you'd be surprised how many issues you can address in the format of a hub.

Really nice to meet you.  Keep talking to us. Don't let yourself become lost in depression.  smile

i cant tell you how much it means that you said that! i truly appreciate the help and concern. To answer your question its more of an unexplained feeling where i dont know why i feel the way i do because i do have so much to be thankful for.

You asked about home remedies in your question. Here's a friendly hubbers hub about lemon balm tea. Lemon balm is good for de-stressing and lifting your spirits. smile
