One of my hubs has had previous problems with pulling Ebay items. I've been trying off and on for a month now, and I can't seem to get anything to pull up. I've been taking part of the title description and using the seller ID, and it still won't pull up.
Could it be because I'm getting items from a store versus an auction? If so, is there anyway that we can get store items, and not just auction items?
Good question. I've had the same problem. Hope someone can help us.
I'll add this to our list of work items, as something to investigate. I can't say for sure when we'll get to it, maybe by the end of the month.
Paul, so currently, we're only able to pull from auctions, and not store items?
I think you actually can pull from both store items and auctions now. At least I think I was able to do it. Give it a try.
I still can't get store items. Should I be using the store name or the seller id? I currently have the seller ID. I know that both selelrs have the item, they always do, and it was on ebay yesterday.
Also, when I tried to update it, the capsule deleted instead of saved, as did a text capsule when I went to move it.
Edit: found the missing text capsule.
Sorry.. :-\ I'm bumping this again.. I'm still having problems pulling store items.
Whitney email me the seller id, and the search term you're using. I'm pretty sure I was able to get store items to load, but I'm not familiar with all the intricacies of eBay. It seems like sometimes the same items are available in stores and at auction. It could be that both items are being returned by the API and the auction items are higher in the list, effectively obscuring the store item, or something else along these lines.
Paul, I just emailed you. Let me know if you don't get it. I forgot to mention that I've used the same search term and seller ID in the actual ebay affiliates program to generate links for my own site without any problems.
Paul, I tried contacting you yesterday through your profile. I know you guys are busy. I just want to make sure that you got it.
I got it. It may be a day or two before I can look into it more.
Ok Cool. I just wanted to make sure you got it, so I can stop bugging you about it. ;-)

I think certain improvements to the ebay capsule would improve sales. I'm actually quite certain of it. I think we need to allow BUY IT NOW items to be shown. For example, I have a hub that sells item on ebay that run about $700-$1000. I saw a few sales of these items when the hub...

Are you using the eBay capsule?I can't get more than one eBay auction to show on one of my pages -- only one auction per eBay capsule.Squidoo allowed us to feature up to 5 eBay auctions per module -- is there a setting in HubPages that I'm missing? Thanks!Coe

When I bring in eBay sadly it also brings in items without photos which I feel spoils the article. Anyway to ignore all items without photos?

I have had a hub on this site for several years that only contained TWO eBay capsules. Today, they were "snipped." What is the point of partnering with eBay if HP is going to interfere with that? Now, I understand that too many "spammy elements" as they call...

I think that HP should discontinue Ebay capsules. The earnings are pitiful at best. Instead of Ebay I am sure that HP could use another advertiser/provider in its place.
