Will adding pictures to my blog make it better?
I have a blog that talks about my experiences and overcoming the problems. Basically, I talk about a problem I encountered and I give advice on it. However, I want my blog to be more than words. I want people to find it interesting. Would people like it if I added pictures or poorly drawn (sometimes good) paint pictures off my laptop? The paint program every computer has where you make pictures look like a comic, a cartoon or something. Do you think any of this would work?
Yes, I think that adding photos would be a good idea. It'd make your blog more appealing to readers.
The 'drawing your own pictures' is a good idea as well. I think especially if they're done in a humorous or witty manner
You can use commercial/royalty free or stock photographs if you don't want to use your own. Just make sure you read up on the terms and conditions under which you can use the photos.
Good luck!
Thanks for your opinion. I want to add some humor to my blog so I might try the painting one. We'll see how that goes. Thanks again.
I think the short answer is "yes, adding pictures will make your blog more interesting."
The longer answer is "yes, adding pictures will make your blog more interesting, but be sure that the photos you are adding are meaningful and relevant. Just adding photos for the sake of adding photos can confuse your readers. and adding poor photos or amateurish photos will make your blog seem amateurish as well. Also, don't stop at photos. most blog formats allow you to upload videos, quotes and links. - take advantage of your options so that you can include as much interesting and relevant content as possible. The success of your blog largely depends on repeat traffic, so make sure that you are giving your readers reasons to come back.
Thank you for your opinion. I want my blog to be more than words and to have humor in it as well.
Yes, I believe so. If you add high quality photographs to your blog, it makes it look more appealing and interesting. Make sure the photos are either your own, or that you have permission to use them.
I think you should go with high quality images that will keep people on the page longer. Also good images will help you if you pin them to Pinterest and they are shared by other people. If your images are shared, Google will detect that and raise your site higher in the site rankings. I uploaded a bunch of high quality photos for hubbers to use here ----> http://freecreativecommonsphotos.com
Just link back to the site and you can use them any way you want. There are no watermarks. Having watermarked photos can get your hub unpublished.
Who doesn't like photos?
A good photo can make a huge impact on the reader, the trick is to find one which helps or aids in the message you are trying to convey. The goal is to use photos to grab the readers attention and if possible, have them feel the what photo shows as they read.
If you are able to use paint of create your own images, wow! Your skills are amazing and depending on your message, an artwork you created could actually still be helpful!!

I check out many of the new hubs as they come across my Home page. I'm interested to see how many people use their own original work, how many correctly use and credit public domain photos, and how many are outright stealing photos from the Internet. When someone posts a professional looking photo...
