   President Obama has delayed Big Business requirement in Obamacare - does this make the law bad?
   
   Is this proof that Obamacare is bad for the nation? From the outset, many people have stated that Obamacare will actually ruin the healthcare and insurance communities in the USA. Now this action has been taken, but it does not delay the tax that will burden the middle-class when the big businesses are not required to provide the health insurance for their workers. So, once again the politicians have placed the full burden on the hard working middle-class. Is it time to eliminate this unfair tax system?

      What it is nothing more than is politics. An earthquake of declining coverage and rising costs forced by Obamacare was only two months away. This punts the problem past the next federal election. That is its sole purpose.

   Absolutely not!  It is just one more method of coping with all of the obstacles thrown in front of Obamas dedication to getting access to health care for all Americans.  It is to his credit that he continues to move forward.  Obama is fighting for the middle class.

      ta if that is true then in Oct shop the exchanges in your state and get a better price. This plan forces insurance companies to compete and puts many more people in the system - lowering prices

      Folks-those who believe the exchanges are a good thing need to do some research. Most do not cover all that your prior insurance covered. So many special riders mean more costs. Plus under the exchange the accountant has more power to deny coverage

      I think you are the one that needs to do some more research ta - the exchanges are a good thing - perfect? no, but claims are denied all the time now and Obamacare puts restrictions on the ability to deny care.

      There are many reasons one's insurance costs go up. It's usually because of age, current health, and the likelihood of additional needs/care. You can always ask them to review the pricing once serious attention to your health shows improvement.

      Yep - I did check with the agent and the increase was due to compliance with the afordable care act (obamacare). So I guess to make it affordable they must charge more from the hard working middle-class.

   Just the simple fact that at present an elderly person has to "shop" for his benefits.. having to trust others because they just "don't know" what is best .. also, that current medical requires just about all people to be tested for street drugs.. even someone who has never seen or used them.  And finally that now Doctors are scared to treat you because they don't know what they are going to be paid, or if they are allowed to treat more than one symptom or illness at a time due to the new rules. And yes, obamacare is causing basic confusion, and causing people to go untreated in my opinion.  Already most fortune five hundred companies limit over fifty percent of their employees to minimum hours so they won't have to provide benefits.   " Let the government provide?" Are we turning into a socialist nation already? And yes it is another revenue collector for the upper class.  it is reformed clintoncare..  But hey, who cares if it memorializes a president.  By tightening us up, pretty soon we may not be able to say what we think... there will be a hidden rule that makes it illegal to tell these "secrets".  Remember, all citizens are prisoner when finally they give up their rights to choose, to contribute their thoughts, and give their objection if necessary.. when the Laws governing this body are to the detriment of this body.. Another test of sincerity of government is "Are they willing to change".  If not they are at the threshold of dictatorship..   This is just my opinion. WHY do the already dependent have to subsidize the remaining 20% with alternate insurance, if their system is so great?  Is there something about this I don't understand? did we get robbed of 20% ?  Is that the tax you refer too?  ask any still cognizant elder, or even ask a health provider about the dark secrets of the 20 % (un) provision.  Who pockets that?

   No, it proves it is difficult to implement and they are ironing out some kinks. The exchanges for individuals are of benefit to those who are low income, whose employers offer ridiculously priced or no coverage, those with pre-existing conditions etc. I think people who live in states where the exchanges kick in in October will be pleasantly surprised and helped that they can finally purchase affordable healthcare insurance.
   
   Most people that are crying about the healthcare plan have no clue what is actually in it, how it will work, they are just angry because it is a change in the system.

      Yep-and the kinks are political pandering to buy votes.I have read the whole document and it provides exemptions to select groups.it is discrimination at the highest level. So much for fairness.

   As someone once said : It's not a healthcare system ; It's a sick care system
   for those who are sick in spirit and mind.It's mostly good for sick people which  usually ignore their own health until it's too  late. That and genetically modified foods which is making people sick. We are taxed to take care of that sickness.It's a catch 22. People get sick then they go to a hospital or nursing home where there are more sick people and they get even sicker.Doctors trained in traditional methods - so-called get 15 min to see a patent and make a diagnosis.Often a wrong one because time and money constrictions from hospital or medicare - medicaid rules.
   Even if we had enough doctors we are increasingly getting more older people on the verge of retirement who will likely need more sick care than will be available.

      you are correct - anyone on medicare will soon find that their coverage has shrunk under the new law. and even with the expanded coverage for some illnesses, the overall coverage will cost the elderly more. and the tax on the middle-class to cover it

   Yes it is.  The whole thing is a cobbled-together mess, the full effects of which are yet to be felt.  This will turn out to be the worst thing that ever happened to health care in this country.  They keep having to grant exemptions to states and businesses because of the havoc the bill is already causing. Two major insurance companies have already pulled out the individual health insurance market in California due to "Obamacare" and the worst is yet to come.  Competition in the health care system is slowly being eaten away, eventually leading to what the statists currently in government wanted all along: a single-payer heath care system.  In other words, nationalized health care. I lived in the UK for 8 years and I saw up close and personal the "benefits" of nationalized  health care - believe me, YOU DO NOT WANT THIS.

   Obamacare may not be perfect. I understand the delay for making large companies comply with the group policy coverage. Negotiating a group policy, if you have locations in multiple states, it is complicated.
   
   As far as the exchanges go, I am looking forward to them. Because of my age and because I could not convert my Cobra to an individual policy because if the group insurer does not write individual policies in your state, you cannot convert.
   
   Thus because of my age and prior health conditions I am paying for wannabe insurance. I am having cataract surgery next week. My insurance will not pay any of the cost associated with the facility where the procedure is being done.
   
   I am paying more $6,000 a year in premiums for insurance that hardly covers anything and only has a limited prescription benefit. I am spending another $1,200 on medicine I import from Canada, plus the pre-op eyedrops for my cataract surgery cost $300--for each eye.
   
   I am allegedly a Type II diabetic. After I lost 20 pounds several years ago, my blood sugar or A1c (blood sugar level measured over time) have been better than most non-diabetics. Yet, I still get turned down by the major companies.
   
   Now someone tell me how I am going to be worse off with the Obamacare plan and the exchanges.
   
   I would welcome any suggestions. Also, my son has several health issues, but because he is virtually blind, he gets Medicare. I pay more than $300 a month for his supplemental coverage.
   
   Did I mentioned that I have been unemployed for more than two years?

      You are worse off with the obamacare plan because your choice of doctors has been reduced when using the exchange. The correct plan would have reduced insurance rates by creating more jobs not less jobs. read the book about surviving obamacare

      My question is how do you create these jobs that are going to save us money. Governments spend millions on economic development and are cutting health care. I like to have more jobs, but at my age, one is not forthcoming. Obamacare will help me.

   I believe  it is bad...Probably more increases in my current health care cost...by the time it goes into effect I won't be able to pay my current health care bill . Is that the plan ? so I will be forced to have Obama care ...just goes to show that they don't know what they are doing....so how should the people know......People who don't have health care now ...do not have it because they can't afford it....Its not going to be free for the middle class....so if they can't afford it now ..How will they afford it then..Oh that's right......they can't ..so then they get penalized on their taxes...

      The best way for USA to take care our own is to eliminate all subsidies for foreign support. Buy American and quit spending on foreign so we can create progress at home. This always works for the homeland.

      faythef...you're correct the rates have already spiked in CA where it was implemented.  And a number of insurers like Aetna have opted to no longer offer indiv policies in CA as a result of this mess, yet you're still required to by them. LOL

    Obama care is rife with loopholes for unions and countless others that it can only laughingly be called "universal".
    Like so many, I should say almost all, legislation by the time it makes it through the "process/or" is has become so tarnished and so filled with unrelated BS that none of it should be passed.
    They system needs to be changed so that every bill has to pass or fail on its own. This process of glamming on unrelated legislation, usually pork, is how most of the really bad laws and spending are passed.

    it appears that the Obama support crowd is at work again attempting to hide the truth.  If you wish to see the best answer to this question, you will need to unhide it.  Hub pages has stated that it is hidden due to "negative feedback".
    
    the only reason for negative feedback for that answer is the political corruption supporters in the Obama camp.
    
    now more than ever, the nation needs everyone to recognize the destructive nature of the current political socialists.
