Why is the minimum wage so low?
The problem of low income earners have been a issue for years. So what is the solution, raise minimum wage or pay people what they should really be earning. But who determines that, can fairness be achieved in this privatized capitalistic society?
What exactly should a Walmart shelf stocker make anyway? $10, $15, $20 per hour? What exactly should they be earning? You cannot expect unskilled general labor to pay a great salary.
In my opinion, if you don't want to work for minimum wage, then get an education or work on your skills so that you can find a better job. When I first started working, minimum wage was less than half of what it is now and I almost never heard anybody complaining about it. We were just glad we were earning something.
Now I sound like an old lady!

November 18, 2013 | Wal-Mart doesn’t pay its employees enough of a wage so that they can afford to buy quality food for Thanksgiving. So one store in Cleveland had a novel idea: launch a food drive for its own employees. It’s targeted at the low-wage workers who could afford to...

Why Would Raising The Minimum Wage To $15 Be A Bad Thing? What would happen to small mom and pop businesses and their employees? Would this make less competition for large corporations? Will the price of common goods go up? Would it create inflation?
