Question on how we get paid on eBay capsules

I've been reading the tutorials but am getting conflicting feedback.  Do we get paid on a "per click" basis or is it based on a portion of the total sale?  I'm thinking it's per click but just want to verify. Thanks

It's much more complicated.   eBay pays for value clicks and for 1000 views.

You get paid more if the clicks offer value.  What is value? Those who bid on an auction. It doesn't matter if they win the auction or not. The fact that they bid, pushes the price up for someone else who ends up winning the item. And therefore eBay can charge the winner a higher fee. That's value to eBay. You also get paid per 1000 hub views. Known as RPM, or revenue per thousand. "M" is the Roman numeral for 1000.

The HP earnings report for eBay shows what was purchased. But you'll notice you don't get paid based specifically on the sales. The report shows the sales listed by hub, but that does not equate to your revenue. The purpose for showing you that information is so that you can determine if you need to make changes to your hub to reflect, much better, what people are actually buying on eBay based on your eBay capsule. Sometimes, you will notice, people buy something completely different than what you had specified in the capsule.

The HP earnings report also shows your revenue per 1000 hub views (The RPM) as I mentioned above.

For a detailed explanation, go to you earnings page. Click on eBay Sales reports. Then click the "help" button at the top right of the report for eBay help. Don't click the help link at the top of the page.  That's not the same thing.

Thanks Glenn.  You are just so knowledgeable.  I appreciate your time in giving me such a complete answer.  Just wonder if you find people go for the cheaper items. Never sure if I should go for the pricier, better  ones.

New Understanding - to answer your question, making a decision between cheaper items or pricier items is not the concern. What's important is to select items that relate to the subject of the particular Hub to that people may buy or bid on something.
