Have you ever seen what you thought was an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO)?

What were the circumstances under which you saw the object? Where were you? What did the object look like? Did you see any occupants of this spacecraft?

Hi Daisy, I haven't but funnily enough my scientific 'do not believe in aliens' brother did! He was walking along the river at night with his dog, and suddenly over the woods a huge light shot up and hovered then slowly rose up to the sky and shot off! He just couldn't figure out what it was, but it was definitely something odd, it really scared him!

    Hello Daisy:

Even though I believe in Extraterrestrial life on other worlds, as well as alien beings, and the different types of craft they have been reported to visit our earth in. I have to be honest with you, I have never personally viewed at a close distance.

However, when I was a teenager, I did witness a few strange events, which I could not explain, while I was viewing the moon and a few other celestial objects one night through my then...13 Inch Dobsonian telescope.

What I saw while scanning out over a large body of water near my home, was a bright white light, at about a distance of one mile. It rose slowly at a distance of about a mile from my home, straight up into the night sky. It hovered from the distance displaying this steady white light.

Than it started to move on a forty five degree angle, as it picked up tremendous speed, and grew dimmer and dimmer, from my line of sight, and disappeared within the surrounding star field. I am not sure what it was. But can tell you it was not a helicopter, or a satellite.

It shifted direction and picked up speed too quickly to be any type of known aircraft. That is all I am going to say about this experience. A few nights later, I was viewing the full moon. And had my telescope trained on one of the more prominent craters on the moon. As i studied the crater and surrounding landscape of the moon for about ten minutes or so.

I then noticed something, actually leaving the vicinity of that crater, and moving quickly away from the surface of the moon, away from its rim. All I could make out was a moderately lit, round disk of white light. Nothing more, nothing less. And since this time period of about thirty years ago, I have never experienced anything close to what I had observed back as a teen.

So this would have to be my personal UFO encounter you could say, or experience. I never told anyone, except a few close family members. Anyway,

it's nice to think that we are not alone in this Universe. And I also like to write on this topic from time to time. Thank you for conjuring up all of us UFO believers imagination a bit!  Maybe I should just have wrote an article here about my UFO experience back then.  LOL.

About 40 years ago, we lived in a duplex near Dallas.  Occupying the other side of the duplex were two young brothers, one of whom was an engineer at Bell Helicopter.  There was an undeveloped wooded area in back of the house.

Late one night (about 2 a.m.) I heard a noise out back.  I instantly thought the word "turbine" but don't know why.  The noise of this "engine" rose steadily until it sounded as though it was as huge as a city block.  I remember lying there on my back completely paralyzed including my voice.  My tongue clove to the roof of my mouth.  My husband slept through the whole thing and I couldn't speak in order to wake him up.  The noise hummed and throbbed at an almost unbearable pitch for about ten minutes or so and then suddenly stopped.

The next day when I saw our neighbor, I asked him if he heard or saw anything weird the night before.  He looked straight into my eyes and stated, "Silva, there is not enough money in the world that would pay me to get up and look out back last night."

Frankly in almost 4 decades of existence , I have only heard of UFO and never seen one. Most accounts also seem fiction to me. UFOs ? They don't exist
