It's a great question for me as there is a homeless guy, that's has recently started sitting outside of our local Tesco's supermarket in the UK..He sits right outside the doors, & watches the people pushing mountain loads of shopping around him, & they don't give him a second thought or look..Now i don't feel sorry for him as i don't know why he's homeless, & for all i know he might actually deserve to be homeless..However i do feel a bit embarrassed, about the fact that he's totally invisible to everyone else..I'm sure I'm not the only one who wonders if he needs help, but the next time i see him I'm gonna buy him a coffee & ask him if he wants any help....I suppose it's the old "do you give a man a fish, or a fishing rod & teach that man to fish" saying.

I would make an effort to bring something, esspecially if I say a need, like cold days/nights and they don't have a blanket. Or if they had a pet to bring food. I am always hesitate to give money, I'd rather give them what they need. I also would provide a smile and a hello, possible with time, a hey, how are you today?

I personally do not wait to see if a homeless person is in the same location.  I personally divide my meal with that person every time I find myself in that situation.  On several occasions, I have even provided a shelter for the homeless individual.  Additionally, I have prayed with and for the individual in an attempt to find them work or to provide for their future as I would for any other human being.
I believe that God will provide for everyone if they simply follow the Spirit of righteousness.  And so, I take it as my responsibility to provide for anyone that is in need.  And, God does provide me adequate capability to do this as each time I "Pay it Forward", great things are bestowed upon me.
If anyone hunger in my environment, they will be given a portion of the sustenance that is available to me.  If anyone be frightened in my environment, they will be provided safety and protection.  If anyone find themselves physically challenged, they will be assisted.  For it is the request of God that we provide for those that cannot provide for themselves.
It is written -  Mark 3:34-35 King James Version
34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

There are a few shelters around any county in the United States.  The best thing to do. You call the shelter and ask  to come and pick him up. Or you can take him if you want. It is ok to give him money to to solve the food for the day. Offer him a job. Maybe  he needs to find a job.

The shelters do not pick them up.  Transportation is not provided.  Family members or someone else has to take them to a shelter.

The first time I see him, I will sit down beside him and sincerely ask him how he's getting along. I ask if he could have 5 things right now what would he want? I run get them and then give him some money. I know people say what if he buys booze, drugs, act. Well thats the chance I'll take, God sends me on missions, just like this. I'd give him a hug and tell him Jesus loves him and sent me to help and let him know Jesus loves him even more ; to believe and accept it. He is making a real nice place for us, see you there my friend. You never know he just might be an Angel, I want Jesus to be pleased with me. I never pass up a chance to help, and share my sweet Jesus' promise to us.
