   Is it possible to have food stuck in throat for a full 24 hours?
   
   Long story short I swallowed a small pork rind whole and got that pill stuck in throat feeling. 24 hours later I still have that feeling, feel like sometimes I need to take big breaths of air, woke me out of my sleep, and I feel like I need to force air up (burp) constantly. Never had this happen for more than a couple minutes after taking a pill. So can food be stuck that long?

   Yes, but water or water consistency will not dislodge it.
   
   You have to drink thicker fluids, or try applesauce, something grittier than pudding consistency. Oatmeal, cornmeal.  something like that.
   
   Since it is starting to obstruct your breathing - you might want to take a ride to nearest medical facility.

      Thanks, I've actually been trying the exact things you've mentioned, pudding, oatmeal, and applesauce with no luck yet. Feel silly going to a doctor for food in my throat!

      You  need to go. If you should choke while sleeping, you might not wake up. You should go.  I'd rather feel silly, than be choking to death. My grandmother used to have a remedy but it never worked for us. Swallow cracked ice cubes big pieces.

   It may be simple and if so eat an apple, not applesauce.  If that does not work you do need to go to a doctor.  There are things that can go wrong with the muscle of your throat.

   As strange as it might sound, there may have been a sharp enough edge or corner on the pork rind that it actually got partially embedded in your throat much the same way a chicken bone can. If you still have the feeling something is stuck in there, a doctor may have to remove it.

   Yes, it can be stuck that long.....I had it happen to me with a piece of meat. You need to go to the E.R. and DON"T Eat anything else...they will probably have to scope you to get it out! Don't eat or drink anything else if it hasn't gone down on it's own it is stuck, and if you are having trouble breathing it could be blocking off your air...there's many reasons why this can happen. Please go be seen!!!

   Peeples...."a small pork rind"...as in the crunchy snack type of pork rind that comes in a bag like pretzels and chips?.......If so.....any part of it that may have remained in your throat would have definitely been dissolved by liquids at this point. 
   I do agree with those who say you should be looked at.  NEVER feel foolish when it comes to your health/life........People have gone for reasons you would never believe!  Don't even worry about that issue!
   What I am thinking though.....is that, that rind scratched your throat as it went down.....and the delicate tissue inside your throat....is now inflamed and "swollen"....giving you that feeling that something is still stuck.   If it turns out that this is what has happened, it will remain until your throat can repair itself.
   In any case, peeples...better safe than sorry.  Good luck.

   I had this happen once with a piece of candy. Long story short, my doctor told me the candy (a shard of candy cane) had slipped on down the way it was supposed to, however it had bruised my throat as it passed. You may be burping due to your digestive system working a little harder to digest the whole pork rind (chewing dissolves food before it goes down). The having to take big breaths may be due to a subconscious fear that the rind is "stuck" there. If the nuisance continues, I say go to the doctor and have him/her check it out. Even if there is nothing dangerous going on, the reassurance may be exactly what you need.
