Why do my "related searches" have nothing to do with my hub subject matter?
If there is a way to fix this, I would like to know.
Very good question and I wish I had an answer. It drives me crazy when the "related" searches are not related in any way. My guess is they base it on one or two words that are repeated within a hub or webpage. I have a hub about why Americans shouldn't be forced to learn Spanish and all the related links are about learning Spanish. I think it would be great if they suggested "related" material and let us choose which will be shown.
I know what you mean. My related searches are about "valentine's day" stuff and "love." None of my hubs deal with that subject matter or are that mushy in tone. I hope these searches aren't misdirecting traffic.
I think it is the title, and not the hub itself. If you tweak the title the related hubs will change. Sometimes it is not worth it, of course.
What Sheila said! It really boggles my mind how some of these "related searches" could even possibly be seen as to relating to my Hubs. Psoriasis treatment searches for a hub dealing with Valentine cards, or Find out more about your credit history on a Hub about cats? Wild and weird!
I wrote a hub last week on Brazilian Parrot Names and the number one related search was Brazilian Bikini Waxes in DC. How is that related? I got a laugh out of it but complained and HP took it off.
Perhaps they are listed under the same group, or have similar titles.
My two top-rated hubs in terms of Hub score both have "related searches" that are all about spreadsheets and Excel, yet one is a yoga hub and the other is a travel hub. Makes me wonder!

I did a little experiment with opting into the EC program for three months. To begin with, last year one of my better performing hubs become Editor's Choice. That hub was getting an average of 20o+ views per day, peak. The day after being selected as EC, the views dropped to zero. I watched it for a...
