Considering going back to school at the age of 44. Do you think this is a good idea?
What is a good career to get into in your 40's? Im 44 years old and I have been home on and off raising my children and now im trying to get back into the workforce and having a really hard time. I went to college years ago for Medical Secretary/Assistant but I haven't done it in years and I keep getting turned down. Any suggestions would be helpful!
My mother did this. We went to college at the same time. starting out at the same community college, then moving different universities to complete our undergrad and graduate degrees. I think any time you decide it's time to further your education is the right time!
What field did you and you mother choose? Thank you for your input.
She spoke several languages, so she chose English, and ended up teaching ESL at the same community college where we both started.
I can't tell you what career field to choose, but I'd suggest doing an internet search for the ones with the most demand for employees. Once you see that list, narrow it two or three that sound interesting to you and research what's involved. Whatever you choose, once the choice is made don't hesitate to go back to school. The longer you put it off, the more reasons you'll think of not to go and then you may regret not going later.
I'd love to go back to school for my MA. I was just telling my husband that. I'm in my 40s.
I love learning, I could make a career out of being a student.

Is it pointless to go back to college for 10 years at 30 yrs old? It's been a crazy year for me with a lot of really weird events. Plus with me turning 30 this year I started looking at my life. I always wanted a degree in Archaeology or Anthropology but never got it. I am now seriously considering...

Should education be limited by the age of a person.? Then why are those made fun of who come back to college after a certain break of few years.?

What is a good age to start college or university? Is it better to start when you are younger or older?
