Why is spelling and grammar so atrocious on Bubblews?
This might be a bit off topic, but what is up with the grammar on Bubblews? To be fair I didn't really look all that much, but every post I read was just horrific. Am I right? Or am I missing something?
I'm not familiar with Bubblews but if it is anything like HP with an international reach it's possible a lot of folks simply do not use English as their primary language which makes them prone to make errors in spelling and phrases.
In other instances sometimes people are typing fast and (filling in "the blanks" with words in their head the do not get typed on their screen.
I've been guilty of not only doing that but of even proof reading and still filling in the missing word. It's only after I step away a day or two and read it again that I find I left out words.
I know exactly what you mean, and I agree, but it's way more rampant in the bubblews community.
A majority of users are from the Philippines, atrocious grammar and non stellar posts are pretty common.
A very small number of writers on Bubblews are native English speakers who also write well. Everyone else seems to be using the site either to practice their English, or to scrape content and run it through a translating tool, which is why many posts there are unreadable.
lisavollrath, You make an excellent point regarding people using (translating tools). Very rarely do they provide a completely accurate translation from one language to another or at least not in the way the natives utilize the language.

Is it rude to point out grammar/spelling mistakes on hubs via comments?I've come across numerous hubs that have grammar and spelling errors, some minor and some littered with mistakes. Otherwise, these hubs would be interesting and will written in my opinion. Is it rude to point out these mistakes...

Does bad grammar and spelling bother you?I don't expect everyone to be an English professor, but for goodness sake people, use some punctuation and a built in spell-check! This is primarily aimed at forums, hubs, and places like YouTube comments. Places where people could take the time to read over...

Why don't people check their spelling and grammar when they write and publish their Hubs?It is understandable when the person is not a native English speaker, but when the author is a native English speaker with some amount of education, it is quite sad.

It is one thing to hit a double letter (or to skip and "e" like I almost did in letter, but if English is your native language, it seems to me that you should make an effort to spell correctly and use standard English in Hubs you publish and in comments you make. I read a comment this...
