How to reply comments
I want to reply comments that I had received from various writers. How do I reply to them? The most I could do is click "Approve" or "Reply" but how do I mention the writer's name? Is it @abc or #abc or &abc?
I always use the @ sign but I don't believe that it creates a 'link' like other sites do?
However if they have left the default 'check' mark on the 'Follow this Hubs Comments' they will get a message on the 'notifications' drop down menu!
and hopefully come to the Hub to read your reply
thanks, I will try the @ sign follow by the user name and see how it works.
I always have found it easier for me to reply to comments on the actual hub. I post a comment, but then I have to go back to my profile and click on that same hub and comment on the next comment, as it will not allow me to continually comment to all the comments on one hub at one time, unless I just do all the responses in one comment box. I like to reply to each comment individually though, being each person has taken the time to comment and read my hub. So, I do not reply from my account page.
i see, so no wonder everybody don't reply individually. thanks

When I started on hubpages I used to reply to every comment, and I still appreciate them as much as I used to...But is there a point when it becomes unneccessary to reply to comments? I think that its great when people reply to every one of their commenters, I really do, people like Sufidreamer...

Hello, I know I suggest too many new features, but I noticed that it is very easy to respond to comments on the HubPages iPhone app. I have the comment right in front of me and have three choices underneath, "Deny," "Approve," and "Reply." I just click on...

If I view my account's Comments page, it's easy to view, approve and respond to unapproved comments. However, if I go to a new comment in one of my hubs and click Approve, I cannot reply to it directly on the comment. Instead, I have to go to my main Comments page and find the now approved comment...

So, I've always thought it was the polite thing to do to reply to commenters, and thank them for their time and input, and I've made an effort to do so consistently. However, I'm wondering if this is now being discouraged by HP, as there is no available comment box for replies on hubs that have been...

When I get a comment on one of my hubs I usually reply, at least with a thanks if I can. I notice some do and others do not reply to comments.I am wondering if there is any reason for not replying apart from being too busy to do so? Is it bad for bandwidth? does it score against your page rank,...
