Yes I do!  I can't remember the last time I enjoyed watching a movie as much as this one.  It was such a deep movie with a great story.  Even at 3hours long the movie kept my attention the entire time.  Interstellar definitely ranks in my top 5 movies of all time.

My feelings exactly! Even after 3 hours, I wanted it to continue. Yes, it had a few faults, but it is a genre defining film and one that will have longevity. One of my top 5, as well.

Yes, given that there are so many in that category, I don't see why it wasn't.  Because of the many amazing shots and sequences in the film, a best director and/or best cinematography nomination would have been appropriate.  That Matthew McConaughey didn't get a best actor nomination is troublesome.

I can see why the Academy frowned on Best Director, because of the plot holes and bad sound editing. If it had spent a little more time in pre and post production, it could have been stellar.  I was shocked that it didn't get best Cinematography.

I think a Best Picture should be impeccable in all aspects. This movie was gorgeous-looking, had fantastic acting in it, and had an amazing score but...

The writing was very weak. They tried to combine genres in a way that left it way too weak a sci-fi film and a somewhat weak religious horror/supernatural drama. It could have been an absolutely amazing religious horror/supernatural drama movie in a sci-fi setting.

The sound editing also had issues that I found very sad.

Those who have understood the movie, for them Interstellar would definitely feature in the Top 5. But adequate explanations for the different scientific phenomenon in the film has not been provided in the movie. Therefore it might not appeal to a wider audience.
A movie which wins a Best Picture in the Academy Awards needs to be liked and appreciated by people from every sphere. I don't think Interstellar has been able to achieve that. The visuals and shots may be fantastic but to understand the real scientific idea behind it, one has to belong to the science background.
So it definitely deserved a Best Cinematography nomination but I am not surprised that the film was not nominated in the Best Picture category.
