What do you do if you found out a girl left her boy friend for you?

Image this situation, a girl you like, has a boy friend, that love her and treat her well. But she found herself falling for you, also and in all these years she was only with her BF, because she felt obligated to stay with him. She decided to leave him for you and he was heart broken.  I came close to been in the same situation when I was in college (10 years ago). I decided to keep my distance, so she won't leave her BF for me and they can sort out their problem, themselves.  But that was me, I am wondering, what would you do in a situation like this?

Each of us (chooses) our own friends, lovers, and spouse.
Generally speaking two things come into play in a situation like this.
    1. How do you feel about the girl?
    2. Is her boyfriend one of your best friends?
If you were "crazy about the girl" you probably would have became a couple and eventually gotten married. If it was just going to be a "fling" in your mind then it makes no sense to encourage to leave a man who loves her for one who isn't really "into" her.
I would probably pass on this one under the circumstances.

I was recently in a situation sort of similar to this.

A young girl I knew had been my neighbor for ten years and always had a crush on me. She had a boyfriend that she had been dating for two years and they seemed to be doing alright.

Well I was friends with her parents as well, they were my neighbors after all, so I'd see her now and then. Whenever I was around, she would ignore him, sit right next to me, etc. I felt bad for the kid but then again is she really happy with him if she is that willing to set him aside that quickly?

Well she is a college cheerleader, so it was not easy to do so, but I told her that I wouldn't want to get into anything with her until that was worked out. No loose ends. I don't really have time for that.

Then again, if I was head over heels for the chick, I'd probably feel differently.

I guess my answer is: There is no one answer for that question. That's what I did though, and I feel it was the right thing to do.

In my case, her mom made her date him, they dated for 5 years when we met, he is always there for her, so she felt obligate to stay with him. I never met her BF and never lost a GF this way, but I know how it felt, I don't want to be selfish.
