What is a good traffic flow for a beginner? When can it be expected to improve?

    What is a good traffic flow for a beginner? When can it be expected to improve?

    I have read all of the forums and posts about traffic, but what is an average traffic flow for a newbie? How long before it might be expected to go up? What is a good number of views for a beginner? I feel like mine are dismal (just over 200 for 9 hubs over one month).

    Hi Valerie,
                    It is difficult to say what is "good" traffic for a beginner. When I started, with a similar number of hubs, I got nowhere near 200 views in a month. As stated below, you need to keep writing more hubs and post links to your hub on Social Media to increase your readership. You can also follow people here on HubPages and answer questions to increase the number of people who read your hubs. Good luck and welcome to HubPages.

      Thanks Robbie, I'm glad to know I'm not alone. A different forum had people saying they had high hundreds in the first couple of weeks!  I'm working on linking to more sites, but I will keep posting hubs regularly smile

    It depends on how you promote your hubs and what you're writing about. If you're writing about something extremely common such as "weight loss" then you'll probably see less traffic because there is a lot of competition. If this is the case then I would recommend trying to be active on the HP forums etc and become a part of the community because you'll receive more internal traffic than search engine traffic.

    As for good traffic, it just takes time but 200 in a month is certainly not bad for a beginner. If nothing else, you've had 200 more than you this time last month.

      That's a very positive way to look at it David, it's true that I have 200 more views on my writing than I did before I started this adventure. As far as topics go, I'm trying to stick to things I actually know about. Hopefully they aren't too generic
