Other Seasoned hubbers- please help me understand a hub score of 61
I tell myself not to care as long as I continue to be profitable, but I swear I am at my end with the lack of communication on how hubs are rated. I have read the posts about it, and my article meets the requirements. My article gets thousands of views per week, meets all of the requirements in the edit section top right corner, has at least normal grammar, yet after me leaving HP for a couple days I come back to it having a hub score of 61!?!? How is this possible!?
If you name the hub it might be easier for others to give you specific suggestions. I would check your images first - are they full size? pixelated? properly cited?
How many sales capsules do you have if any? If you do is the product specifically and completely related to the hub material? If not that will drag your score down.
Preview the hub in "mobile" format as well as regular - is it displaying in the correct order? Are all capsules full size?
without the specific hub; those are the things I would check first.
It is my Getting Paid To Be A Foster Parent hub. Any help greatly appreciated, I am at my end!
I would rearrange a bit put the state/money info into a table and below more of the text to make it look more fleshed out, also maximize amazon capsule and use custom description why you recommend that specific item that should help hopefully!
Thank you, I despise tables, I guess I need to get to liking them. My only fear is my traffic will drop if I do too much. Are keywords picked up if they are in tables? Thanks so much Christin!
table looks nicer, keywords will be in your table title so use the keyword phrase people would search for. Traffic won't drop if you modify, if anything it will likely increase. Google likes fresh content.
Well a lot of the terms used to find it involve the individual state name, which would end up in the table not title. So would that mean the state names wouldn't be crawled? sorry the whole crawling thing confuses me a little.
No it would be fine. crawlers can and do read the text in embedded tables. Good headings/subs are important regardless, because they also help search engine ranking and just give you more of a boost.
Peeples....Just read the hub in question. Actually, I should say I scanned it, giving it an over all glance for specific "flags" to try to help your situation.
(If your hits & $$ are fine and as steady as they have been, you needn't worry about the score, but you can still tweak a bit to bring it back up)
No way for me to know word count, but since you do, you may want to consider increasing. You can add to your existing capsules, some additional facts and/or advice. Or you can add a new capsule with another important issue in terms of foster parenting.
One thing I noticed which may or not be terribly important.....where you list the pay amounts per State....in the heading, you might want to add that the amounts are "monthly," just to be specific.
In fact, fine tooth comb your hub for any & all minor flaws you can find.
A VIDEO is always a good idea. If you need directions to do that...I'll be happy to send them to you via email....it is SIMPLE
The extra capsule you can consider to use could be asking your readers to share a little about any foster parenting experiences they have had.
It really looks great, peeples. I don't think any of us really KNOW why the scores fluctuate as they do. It's been the big mystery right along. We can only do our cartwheels and hand stands to try to improve our work and hope it helps!! I'm crazy vigilant about any of my hubs becoming unfeatured! The instant I see that, I don the artillery and go in to battle and only stop the fighting when it's back to featured! I celebrate my victories too!! LOL.... Good luck.....Paula
Thanks, the article has 810 words. Good point on the monthly thing. I guess adding more words wouldn't be a problem. I thought about adding a capsule to direct potential foster parents to other foster articles but didn't want to be spammy.
"Monthly pay for foster parents by state" perhaps? Word count is short if the 810 includes the state and dollar amounts. Enhance a bit or expand on the information. It is always a guessing game around here sadly.
True Christin...it is a guessing game...Try try try & try again. No way we stubborn strugglers intend to be shot down! Hang in there peeples!
I think there was a recent newsletter that mentioned their scoring logarithm. While things like word count, spelling, and picture quality are all factors, they aren't the only factors. And a lot of those variables are things HP will never share with us. I assume the reason they won't share them is because doing so would make them look bad. Something that is superficial or bias toward a specific demographic.
So, I guess my point is, try not to worry too much about the hub. Because there are factors that you'll never know about, or be able to control. Trying to keep a high score (or high traffic) is like trying to hold onto water with your bare hands.

I'm here nearly three months. I have published 11 hubs. All of my hubs have score over 80 and just one have 78. This is a hub about my country, Serbia. I did a lot of research and spent over a week to write this article. Probably there are some grammar mistakes, because English is not my native...

Greetings fellow hubbers! My hub about chronic pain used to have a nice score in the 80's and since tweaking it a few weeks ago, the score is stuck in the 70's. I think it was over-tweaked and now I'm at a loss as to how to fix it. Please, I humbly ask for your opinions to give it the "Extreme...
