   Do you think there comes a time when you are too old to walk down the aisle in a white bridal dress?
   
   I'm referring to a woman that hasn't been married before so this would be a full blown church wedding. Just wondered if anyone thought there comes a time when getting married with all the works is just not the thing to do. By all the works, I mean: the white dress; the flowing wedding veil; the train; the bridesmaids and such.

   I don't think age or anything else should determine what color you want to wear at your wedding. I have seen young people get married in red, and older people get married in white. The color of dress a person wears is purely a preference.

      I suppose it's the ideal that white is more the traditional colour, but you're right, especially these days. It should be idividual preference.

   I don't think this is related to age, and is more of a personal style and preference. Some women could pull off a big church wedding later in life, while others would just see it as wasteful, or find it embarrassing. It's each bride's choice, no matter her age.
   
   For myself, at almost 55, I wouldn't be interested in a big church wedding, but I think that was also true when I was in my 20s and 30s. I've always thought those big blow-out weddings are a waste of money, but I'm horribly practical. I've participated in large weddings, and had a blast, but that's not my style.

   Age is not relevant when it comes to a woman getting married for the first or fifth time. It is your wedding and what makes you happy is what you should do.
   
   Wear your beautiful white dress with a train as long as you like, and make it your day to remember always.
   
   Anyone who wants to rain your wedding plans---tell them their opinions are better when asked for---and at this time you do not need them.
   
   Have a wonderful wedding and life.

   In the U.S. many of those traditions or "rule of thumb" ideas have been abandoned. Whatever color (the bride) wants to wear is up to her even if it's third or fourth wedding!
   Some people get married in bathing suits and flip flops on destination weddings. The rule is there are no rules!
   With each new generation people are more casual about such things. It's doubtful many folks will scream: "OMG! Can you believe she has on a white dress and she's 50 years old?" It's {her} wedding!
   Most people ideally who are in attendance are there to celebrate their friend or family member's big day! Anyone who is notating dresses, shoes, makeup, hair and various other things is attending for half-hearted reasons. They're not there to fully "celebrate" and party.

   It is fine for the bride to dress however she would like for her wedding.  It is her big day and she can wear whatever she wants, no matter how old she is at that time. Some women prefer to go traditional and some do not.
