    Ummm...what?
Is "illubrate" even a real word?
I think what we got here is a failure to communicate.

Keith & Dash.....Cool Hand Luke just called me. He said "illubrate" ain't a word that he's ever heard, but he'll be happy to make up a phony translation for us if we want. He's good at that crap.

Just because someone is able to illustrate something does not mean the listener (understood) the illustration or explanation that was given.
The question (why) is oftentimes a follow up question a person asks who is seeking additional understanding of a concept.
If it's a teacher or instructor asking you (why) they're looking for further proof that you understand the reason why your answer is the correct one.
If it's your significant other or your boss asking you (why) it's probably just "verbal foreplay" before they smack you down and show you why your actions were stupid or wrong in (their) eyes. smile
"Lets hear what this fool has to say for himself."
That's what they're thinking to themselves.
They really don't care about (why) you said or did it!

Well in the U.S. people generally ask (why) when they're seeking clarification, an understanding, or reason.
