   The Keystone Pipeline should be approved for construction.  The research that has been done over years shows there is no impact on the environment.  Environmentalists and some politicians use only the data that supports their rejection of the construction not the positive impact on our economy.  This includes an increase in high paying jobs and an avenue to push toward energy independence which has been a goal for years.  The pipeline was rejected by President Obama and Congress needs to step up for America and have enough votes to override any veto of legislation that would authorize the construction.
   
   One of the reasons for rejecting the construction is the impact on global warming which has not be proven by the data to be a factor.  Rejecting construction of the pipeline is not in the best interest of our country and for that matter the world.  We in this country have a better record of reducing emissions into the atmosphere than where the fuel would be sent if not in our country.  China for one has been one possible location and they have a terrible record on the environment.

      That is a good answer, and I would add that we should do it as a backup to keep us from ever having to go back to OPEC.

   It never had a chance of developing under our present administration. Our present administration has accepted significant amounts of financial backing from the Saudi rulers if you will. So has Hillary by the way...
   The Saudi rulers provide financial backing to extend their market share in terms of oil. When they provide monetary resources there are always strings attached. Obama himself gained billions of dollars of political support with the one stpulation that Keystone would not go forward...

   I cant remember the exact number, but the long term jobs created from this pipeline (as in those that don't go away after it's finished) is around 50. Which isn't really the jobs boon supporters claim it is. And, as far as its environmental impact, I think the concern is more about spilling, than it is how the transported oil is used. Oil companies have terrible track records with spills, whether its from pipelines or rigs, it happens all the time. Considering the president is trying to move the country towards renewable energy, it never made any sense to approve this pipeline. I'm just surprised it took him so long to reject it.
