   How do you typically respond when someone is being intensely rude to you without cause?
   
   I'm just curious and asking out of the blue Does your response depend on your mood in part or whole? Do you endlessly turn the other cheek? Do you respond with an eye for an eye to teach them a lesson or remove yourself from their presence and avoid them from that point on?

   I experience this a lot in my job and I have the hardest time biting my tongue.  But since I'm the professional I have to.  That just means that when it happens to me in my personal life I bite back tenfold to make up for it.

      I can understand that pain! When I worked outside of my home, I had to bite my tongue too. It felt as if people were almost getting away with murder in the horrible way they treated me & others, I don't ever want to be in a Co. like that again!

   I absolutely cannot stand rudeness. 
   
   It is one of my pet peeves right next to someone snapping at me.
   
   I believe there is NO excuse for rudeness, especially when it is someone dealing with the public. 
   
   How do I respond?
   
   I ALWAYS write a letter and send it to the manager.  I call the place and I ask, "what is your manager's name?"  When they tell me I say, 'thank you very much."
   
   Since I am a writer, I am VERY good with complaint letters.
   
   I have written to McDonalds, Rite Aid Drug Store and Endwell physicians walk in clinic in the past. 
   
   Here is what happened.
   --The person who was rude to me at McDonalds wrote me an apology letter and said he was VERY sorry.  I wrote back and thanked him.  He said he would be more careful and aware of his tone of voice.
   
   --The manager of Rite Aid called me on the phone.  He told me the female employee I complained about was an excellent worker but she had a very cold personality.  He also said she happened into his office when he was not there and spotted my scathing letter on his desk and read it ALL.  He said, "I will speak to her, this will not happen again."
   
   This was years ago!  She is STILL working there and I always say, "Hi Kathy!" and she is lovely to me!  We joke around and she does not hesitate to help me with anything I can't find or if their Xerox machine jams.  She is a very different friendly person.
   
   --The head of Endwell Family Physicians office called me up, they sent me my check back - said NO CHARGE for what I went through and had a meeting with all employees there, including the female physician who was extremely rude to me. 
   
   These are just three examples.  One time I went to a manager in person.
   
   All I can suggest or say is that, in my case, letters have brought results.
   
   However, in the case of Aime, who is stuck with this because of her job, that it might be worth it to look for another job.  Life is short.  And the people in her personal life should not have to pay for the bad people who are rude to her. 
   
   I left my job way ahead of when I wanted to quit some day.  Big cut in pay but I love my life and I have never regretted it.
   
   This is a great question...that being said I will NOT tolerate rudeness.
   
   No one deserves to be treated that way.  Blessings, Sparklea

      I wrote one of those letters, I can't explain the depths of rudeness to which a WalMart worker stooped, she was not only offensive to me but EVERYONE around me. I wrote a letter to the Co. & she was fired. It's doubtful mine was the only letter!
