What is the best beer to have for breakfast?
I find the Blue Moon Cinnamon Horchata to be a fine start the day brew, but your thoughts and suggestions may prove useful as well.
ROFLMAO....You are soooo lame, Wesman! BEER for breakfast??!! What a dam pussy cat you are! The true breakfast of champions is 2 stiff shots of Jack Daniels! And don't forget to say GRACE before each meal!
(Beer is for lunch and possibly snack time)
OMG Paula you crack me up. Tito's vodka ' ain't ' bad. lol
Ruby......I crack MYSELF up! I don't even drink! LOL But I have a feeling if I hung out with Wesman, I might just start!! He's a corker! Glad to see him back!
For me...it is like I have absolutely nothing to say to anyone...until I've had a drink, then I'm suddenly Mr. Social
I'm going to take a lucky guess here and say, no beer at all unless you have breakfast after at least noon. Just a random guess!
Linda Sue...ain't you never heard that it's ALWAYS NOON somewhere in the world!?? It's OK. Wesman tells me he pours his beer over his Rice Krispies. Puts a little more snap, crackle pop in the bowl!
Hey, there is Sangria wine, which is red wine mixed with orange juice. Everyone knows orange juice is a breakfast drink, so......
Paula, I heard that it's always 5:00 somewhere!
Wes, Carry on!
Bloody Marys or Mimosas, yes, but beer for breakfast? I just can't do it. For me, beer o'clock is later in the day.
I've been reading a lot of novels concerning the middle ages. Ken Follet stuff would be an example, and other authors as well. Beer with bread for breakfast is altogether common, standard, accepted
The reason the Brits were drinking beer, and my Italian ancestors were drinking wine: it was safer than drinking the water!
Founder's Breakfast Stout. Coffee stouts should always be breakfast beers.
German Hefeweizens (wheat beer) should go good with Wheaties, but I think that cinnamon ale would be perfect with Oatmeal. A litlte brandy and bacon in eggnog could also be breakfast.
Unless you count the occasional "hair o' the dog that bit me" on the morning after, I have never had a beer that's specifically designed to be paired with breakfast. Am I missing out?
I saw an ad for a Texas craft brew recently, don't recall the brand - but the ad said, "we're not saying it is a breakfast beer, and we're not saying it's not."
Right Wes, this is one especially brewed for a big Texas kid like you, it'll put hairs on your chest! it's called 'Beckwatter', (a 'beck' is a small river, bigger than a stream, 'watter' is Yorkshire for water), brewed for the Birch Hall Inn in the village of Beck Hole near Goathland on the North Yorkshire Moors ('Heartbeat' country). It's the stuff the steam engine drivers at Grosmont - pron. 'growmont - knock back with their bacon butties first thing in the morning before they take their engines out (the bacon's done on a clean shovel in the firebox, do an egg with it and put barrels of ketchup over it). Comes in 500ml (1 pint) bottles with 4% ABV. The brewery that puts it on the map is at Pinchinthorpe Hall, Pinchinthorpe near Guisborough, North Yorkshire TS14 8HG, and it's got a web address: www.nybrewery.com
After a few of these you'll start to sing "Ilkley Moor Bar T'at" like a native.
It's from the Texas of England, 'the big one'! Enjoy - or else!
