Why do born again christians still think they sin, when they don't?

When a person becomes born again their nature change, we have God's nature. When we were born in sin we had the devils nature and we sinned just like he sinned and it didn't matter how much good we did, we were still sinners that sin. Well when you give your life to God you have his nature, a nature without sin, you can't sin anymore because he lives in you and there is no sin in him and if he be in you, there is no sin in you because he destroyed sin once and for all, and you are pure just like he is pure; thats having fellowship with him because you are now the same. Remember sin is darkness

As Christians we have a sinful nature.  God lives in our hearts, but still gives us free will to make our own choices.  His blood has washed us clean, but he still sees our sin.  The good news is he knows us by our heart and who we truly are and not just by our sin.  "You can't sin anymore because he lives in you,"  is an impossible statement.  Yes, he does live in us, but we are not God himself.  Only God is without sin.  He understands that even as he lives in us, we will have sin.  Through Christ his love, mercy, and grace we will change our sinful nature in time.  It is a work in progress that takes a life time.  To say we will never sin is righteous, and only God is righteous.  Every time we walk past a homeless person without helping, or talk negative about a person, or over eat, or tell a lie, or accuse someone falsely we are sinning.  God made us with a sinful nature and even with the blood of Christ and him who lives in our heart, this will not change until heaven. And yes I am born again and baptized with the holy spirit, but am not without sin.

As a Christian we don't have a sinful nature because we are born again and now we have God's nature. We are just like him, sin has nothing to do with right or wrong, sin is a nature that we were born with, but now that we are born again we dont sin.

Even David, one of Christ 12 Disciples admits his sinful nature and asks for forgiveness.   Have you ever read Psalms 51.  David commits adultery with Bathsheba and asks for forgiveness against his "Sin."

That was in the old testament before Christ came to redeem us from the curse.

Patrina, in fact when we're born again we're not made clean.  Many churches teach this, but it's a lie.  We're clean in standing only, meaning that our embracing of Christ's death and resurrection have provided grace to deal with our issues of heart.

RELIGION doesn't teach what CHRIST DIED FOR="GRACE!"  "Christ is become of no effect unto you, WHOSOEVER of you are justified by THE LAW, ye are fallen from "GRACE" (Gal5:4)! There's NO SIN under "GRACE" (Jer31:33-34;Heb8:10-12)!

Read Roman 6.1-2.kjv What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?  God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

So are you basically saying that a born-again Christian can commit a murder in cold blood and it won't be considered sin simply because he was 'reborn' with God's nature in him?

If that was the case, a born-again Christian would be incapable of committing murder and yet....

Think about it God is love and if you are born again you are of love so you wouldn't want to do that, because love wouldn't murder someone, if you did that means you still in darkness. 1John 3:15

Patrina116 is not a student of Scripture.  Mk 11:25 says ask for forgiveness before you pray.  There are many Scriptures that speak to forgiveness for believers.

    Ecclesiastes 7:20
"For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not."
Having said that Christians also believe God can/will forgive sins.

http://bible.com/296/rom.8.1-2.GNB There is no condemnation now for those who live in union with Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit, which brings us life in union with Christ Jesus, has set me free from the law of sin and death.so we are set fre

Patrina116, One the most fascinating things about the bible is it has a scripture or verse for everyone which can be "cherry picked" to suit (their) argument.
God made man and man made religion.
      One man's opinion!smile

      AMEN 'Patrina!'
You can tell who lives under "GRACE" and who doesn't!  SAD!  Christ DIED for NOTHING!
"I do not frustrate the GRACE of GOD: for if righteousness come by THE LAW, then CHRIST IS DEAD IN VAIN"(Gal2:21)!

We will not be sin-free until we leave this life.  The Bible should be studied from Genesis through Revelation.  It's not a buffet to take what you like and gorge on it, leaving critical parts we don't like.

    1 John 1:8-10
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

We sin in our thoughts.  When we think we are better than others, that is pride.  Pride is a sin.  Cursing is a sin because we should not let any unwholesome word come out of our mouths.  Jesus died for our sins because He knew there was no way we could keep laws.  Christians sin.  Paul said he was the chief sinner.
