"Luck is Believing You Are Lucky?"-Tenesee Williams

Or is it good things come to those who believe better things come to those who are patient and the best things come to those who don't give up-Unknown.
Or is it like the Persian saying-go wake up your luck!

Maybe it depends on your definition of lucky. I consider myself a very lucky person. Not because I've ever won a lottery or anything like that but because of the little things that have happened at unexpected times in my life. For instance, once I was going to a fundraiser and my poor little Chevette managed to find the only sink hole in the parking area (an orchard). I managed to get out of the car but the poor little thing was just sitting there, nose down, in the hole. Luckily the event had a number of state troopers there for security but since the person they were there to secure hadn't shown up yet they were just standing around. They saw what happened and came over, assessed the situation, then lifted the car out of the hole. That was very very lucky. This sort of thing happens to me all the time. Something happens that at first glance seems to be bad but then all these great things happen right after that just make the bad go away. My sister used to say going places with me was going on an adventure...

I can't help but think you would have then developed great faith in  the presence of goodness being a natural dominant force in the world.  Yet this is surprising when you have been shown the violent face of humans. How do you reconcile this cissy?

It's kind of a choice that you have to make. You either break under the things you have no control over or you accept your limitations, work toward change, and be thankful for what you have. A lot of ugly happens but so does a lot of beauty.
