   What vacuum brand do you use on your home carpets?

   Do not use anything but Miel. Broke my darned heart to spend that much on a vacuum. Nuts, I will crawl around on my hands and knees to clean before shelling out that kind of dough for a vacuum.
   But I am very happy with my badass super recommended tool. Manly men can use this machine because they are being the first line of defense against bad boy crap that effect our kids on the floor.
   Be a stud in the homeland defense, get a badass vacuum. But once a month I use by Craftsman shop vac to kick some butt. We must be tough after all and justify our real tools in the garage!

      Hi Eric, thanks for your answer. I know people take pride in a vacuum that does actually what they need it to do. I'm glad that bagless vacuums exist. Back in the day, I remember the vacuums with the bags.

      It may seem strange but, the Miel has a bag. My bissel does not. They use the bag and it filters the air more - so no stinky exhaust or dust coming out.  We get into this around here as my wife is a flooring contractor.

      You make a good point, the Bissle Powerforce Helix is bagless, but it spits out dust and trash after a few uses. We've just upgraded from Bissle (the spin cup stopped spinning the dust) to Hoover Windtunnel (spin cup works great and suction is amzg.

      Don't tell my wife but I use the Bissle when she is not looking ;-) I have a friend of 30 plus years that is heir to the Bissle fortune.

      Well, seems your wife notice the quality of Bissle or the lack thereof. Bissle owners need to go back to the blueprint, there's always room for improvement, if they want to please customers.

   I have a Shark that I've had for about 6 years now and I still love it. The suction is great, it's really light, and it's bagless. I have 4 kitties so vacuuming is very important!
   If I ever have to replace this vacuum I'll buy another Shark.

      Hi Cecelia, I was tempted to buy the Shark, seen the cool reviews about it, but I finally decided on the Hoover Windtunnel. You had the Shark vacuum for 6 years now and love it, that says a lot, must be quality.

      I was a little afraid to try it because the price was so low but it has been wonderful. My old vacuum must have been getting weaker and weaker because my carpets looked almost new after the first run through. And I love the fact that I can wash it!

   We have two actually, a Dyson and a roomba (sp). The Dyson holds its own against our dog's fuzzy hair, and the roomba is super convenient. We programed it to vacuum early each morning.

      Hi Jill, cool; a Roomba vacuum that can be programmed to clean floors. I remember a little child on Oprah's talk show in the 1990's, saying if could invent something it would be a robot that clean floors by itself. Seems Roomba had the same idea.

   We use a Simplicity7 series that we've had for about 12 years now. It's great with the carpets and has a set of onboard tools. It is heavy duty and can be repaired, since it actually has metal parts! It has a bag--I can't stand bagless vacuums.
   
   Earlier this year, I also bought a lightweight commercial Oreck that can be hefted around on the shoulder with its strap. It is great for using on our hardwood and hardwood stairs. I hate dragging the Simplicity up and down the stairs, so I use the Oreck. I found it for about $99 on amazon.com. It's bag holds about half of the Simplicity's but is really easy to change.

      Hi Caroline, I also trust the heavy duty vacs and the commercial vacs, they have way more power. I see you like both of your vacuums for different reasons.
