Who killed Jonbenet Ramsey?
The case has always fascinated me, probably because I had a blond-haired, blue-eyed little girl exactly her age when she died. All the news about her broke my heart.
Her face seems to be everywhere lately:
- 20 yr anniversary is coming up.
- Brother is speaking out for first time on Dr. Phil next week
- new movies/documentaries are planned
- private investigator's old Michael Helgoth theory is gaining headlines
Just wondering what your theory is. I'll post mine in an answer later.
My theory is that the mother killed her. Why I keep to myself. My other half girlfriend thinks my reasoning isn't very nice. The thing is this has been my theory since it first hit the news.
Greg..I can understand UR girlfriend's stand, simply Bcuz suspecting a parent (especially Mom) is so very difficult 4 humans 2 conceive. Murder itself is wicked, of a child, even worse..add 2 that a Mom killing her own child & we can't bear it!
Some mothers kill. Hard to stomach, but true nonetheless. And as I mentioned, a Grand jury indicted the parents based upon evidence.
Hello Yves....True, as ugly a fact, parents do kill. I recall the actions of the Gr. Jury, which of course were ultimately useless when the Prosecutor refused to charge them. Did U watch Burke today on Dr, Phil? He is the spitting image of Patsy!!
If I'm not mistaken, there is a Part 2 tomorrow. I wasn't able to see the entire segment today, but what I watched was very interesting. Burke seems sweet & sincere but I couldn't help but note his maturity level seemed stunted for a 29 yr. old
Hi Paula. I didn't see Dr. Phil. Did Burke remember anything?
Basically Yves, he recalled what we might expect a 9 yr. old to have been impressed by & he seemingly blocked quite a bit out which is understandable. He is adamant his parents could/would not have, harmed her. Described them as loving & gentl
It has been revealed that JonBenet had bed wetting problems signaling sexual abuse. The ransom note made no sense. Either the father or the mother killed her. Perhaps both of them. My understanding is that a Grand jury found the parents guilty.
Savvy, now that you said that I will complete my answer. I feel that the mother caught the father abusing her and lost it out of jealousy. To many things point to it being inside. Just my opinion, Greg.
Children can have bed-wetting problems without sexual abuse. Just the stress of pageant competition could bring that on. Was there any physical evidence of sexual abuse? Just curious.
Good point. The FBI concluded that there was no evidence. Other doctors who examined her said that there had been abuse Some examiners were pulled off the case.

Mackenzie....This has been such a tragic mystery from the very start. I think we all may have had our suspicions and opinions throughout. I certainly did. It's shocking to realize it's been 20 years! Speaking of this length of time, due to the dead end investigation for all these years, I can't help but go back to my original assumptions (as egregious as they are.)
In cases of this nature, I have no choice but to admit it is so literally impossible for me to suspect a mother, my ability to come to a valid or sincere conclusion is nonexistent.
Two other high-profile incidents involving children have driven me to the brink. Casey Anthony and Darlie Routier. In the Anthony case, I haven't a single doubt that Casey (Mom) is 100% guilty, yet found not guilty. With Darlie, who is on death row, I still (and maybe always will) have very serious doubt as to her guilt.
I see recently that Burke is speaking out. I definitely plan on tuning in to Dr. Phil on the days he is scheduled to appear. You know though, Mackenzie, the news clips leading up to the actual disclosures, are always quite deceiving. This interview may be nothing that can help any of us to feel a bit of satisfaction. (Know what I mean?) I certainly never suspected Jonbenet's brother at any point.
I can't imagine how much of what occurred on that night, Burke is able to recall or make any sense of. I hate that the poor kid even has to relive it.
It will be an enormous relief for a lot of us to learn what there is to know in terms of coming to a clearer conclusion on "who" is responsible for the death of this precious little girl.
Good question, Mackenzie. Paula
CBS News September 12, 2016: "Despite being cleared by DNA evidence,
many people still speculate that JonBenet’s parents or her brother Burke, the only ones in the home that night, could be responsible for the little girl’s death."
Well, they were the only persons KNOWN to be in the home that night, and that's a different thing.
There was a lot of skin under JonBenet's fingernails because she apparently fought her attacker. DNA testing cleared all family members of the responsibility for JonBinet's death. DNA tests did not match anyone already in the FBI files at that time, but police are still inclined to believe a pedophile in the area was responsible. We may never know.
JonBinet's mother, Patsy Ramsey died of cancer June 24, 2006. Her father is still alive.

Thanks for this valuable info. Sad, just so sad.
Paula, you are so right, and it's a shame there's nothing that can be done to get rid of the sickos that do these terrible things. A 'cure' would be the ideal, but barring that . . .
I don't think most police are inclined to believe that it was an intruder. The Ramsey's did not cooperate with the police. http://www.nbc.com/dateline/video/datel … et/3094666
U may already know this but: Sept 18th @ 8:30pm on CBS a mini-series is scheduled to air on a brand new Re-investigation of this case. I know I'll be glued.
