Can someone please explain to an ignorant hubber like me just what is HubPro Premium editing?

I posted this same question in another forum but did not get a reply from anyone. I'm now again posting it as a new thread in the hope someone will help me out in understanding what HubPro Premium is.

Is it the same as the usual edits that editors do before moving an article to a niche site? Or is it something that is specially done only to articles that are worthy of such edits?

It means one of the editors is going to do every last thing they can think of to improve a hub. It also means the hub page is one they think is particularly good, or better than most others.

It is an in-depth edit, by professional editors, of a hub.  The hub will be changed, and not just an amazon capsule or two taken out - material, text and photos, may be added or removed, grammar thoroughly checked and improved.  Whole capsules may be added or removed.

Editors work directly with the hubber and communication goes both ways.

Most of those that have been through the experience have been pleased - I know I have.

How do I know if/when a HubPro edit has been done on any of my articles?

How much benefit does an article that has gone through a HubPro edit have? Will it somehow increase traffic to the article or is this something that's just like one way of acknowledging the writer's writing ability and the quality of the article.

Of course, I understand that the edit done would certainly improve the article's quality but I wonder how much impact it does have on web traffic, being that the most important thing for bringing in traffic is the topic of the article itself.

The editors contact you directly and tell which hub they are going to work on.  I can't help you with your other questions because I'm having my first one done now. So far the editor has just added an image. She said she's researching content.

There are a lot of variables involved so it is impossible to decide which factor is responsible for improved traffic. My hubs that have been edited by the Hubpro process have always increased in traffic. Some other hubs have only been edited by the basic edit, and that also helps, but probably not as much.

Thank you guys for all your responses.

For theraggededge: Are you saying that you've been here 8 years, written 143 articles and it's only now that you're going through a Hubpro Edit?

Not very encouraging for us newcomers, but then, again like I said if it does very little towards increasing traffic and revenue, who cares?

I'm glad to learn from DrMark1961 that an article edited by HubPro actually gains more traffic. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about this since it is totally out of our control.

It will probably gain more traffic, but it is not impossible for the reverse to happen.

Usually, when I get Pro edits it is to change things like subtitles and to fix small things I just miss myself. For me so far after my hubs get edits they soon get moved to a network. I can't say much to traffic as a good deal of my hubs are edited so I don't have much to compare. I suppose it helps.

Daniel, there are two kinds of HubPro edits; basic and premium.

Basic edits are the ones EricFarmer describes. Many hubs get a basic edit. They just fix small errors that a writer has missed.

Premium edits are different. These are only applied to articles that HP has identified as having very high earning potential. An editor contacts a writer and works with them on an individual basis to add new material and create specially commissioned images. You have to be one of the top HP writers to be selected for this program. The raggededge is one of these and she has only just been chosen for her first premium edit, so that gives you an idea of how rare it is to receive a premium edit.

You can read more about the HubPro program here.
    https://hubpages.com/faq/#HubPro-details

A basic HupPro edit is likely to have little or no affect on traffic. A premium edit is almost certainly going to increase traffic, sometimes dramatically.
