Are search results on android.google.com different than google.com?

   Since the latest Google update, my top 20 articles have shifted around and some that were not doing that well are now near the top on my stats page. These high performing hubs are mostly getting their views from android.google.com.
   Why are they not showing up as google.com? I have had mobile traffic for a long time but it always showed up as google traffic, not android. This has changed since the beginning of this month.

      Where do you see this? This was discontinued a few years ago. It was traffic from the Google app that used to show as coming from the source android.google.com This is the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta … &hl=en
      
      I just checked my stats on Analytics from Sept 1st to date and I have 0 from this source.
      
      Let me see if I can find an article that talks about the android.google.com source.

   I see what you mean. It shows under traffic sources here on HP. Google Analytics should still show it as Google (mobile), can you check and confirm if this is the case? Just found an old news piece that spoke about this change: https://www.seerinteractive.com/blog/go … h-traffic/
   
   To add to this, I do not see any significant changes from this source, seems to be in line with the 30-day stats.
   
   Also, search results vary across devices and it is possible that Google search results on a browser differ from that on the Google app. Could also be voice search putting your articles higher up? I know that voice search takes me to this Google app, but I don't use voice search, so this part is just an assumption.

   Thanks it is a rainy day here so I am checking my articles that have red arrows. This is what I saw under "day traffic" for one that I opened:
   android.google.com 498
   google.com 26
   pethelpful.com 13
   m.facebook.com 5

   GA does show it as just "Google". When I looked at "ever" traffic sources it does not show up but when I checked "day" it was number three, just behind google.com and pethelpful.
   
   The voice comment makes a lot of sense. One of the hubs that is now doing very well is about finding a puppy and a lot of the searchers are probably teens, early twenties, etc. (This may be my age prejudice showing, but I have noticed that kids around here are a lot more likely to use the voice command on their smartphones than an old fuddy duddy like myself.)
   
   For those persons who have lost a lot of traffic, I wonder if this is a possible sign of which way to go?

      Haha. Yeah, no one I know in my age group mid-late twenties uses the voice command. I think it has to be the teens.

      Also, from the research, I've read on Google Voice search, till date the consensus is to rank and steal the snippet as that's what is mostly read out as an answer. I am not sure what happens after that, maybe people are given an option to read more through a voice command which takes them to the page the answer was read out from? I feel this is not the case with this hub though, it can't have the snippet with just 26 Google.com hits when it's 498 from that other source?

         Sorry that was not clear. That "ever" statement was from what I am seeing on traffic sources on the HP stats page.
         No, the hubs that are getting this android traffic do not have the snippets. They do okay but not great with google.com. (2nd or 3rd place in SERPs.)
