Will Michael Cohen be compared to John Dean or Benedict Arnold?

   Will his family be safe while he is in jail or will they be put under witness production?  Is Mitch McConnell trying to get Donald Trump to resign?

      I think, in the end, he will be more of a John Dean.
      
      I sincerely hope his family will be safe and under some type of protection from the crazy Trump worshippers.
      
      I haven't seen anything about McConnell trying to get Trump to resign. Are there rumors?

         Nothing on McConnell.  Cheri Jacobi's hypothesis is that Trump resigning would be better than a vote on protection for Mueller.  Reason - 2020 election possibilities are better if it doesn't look like they were against Trump.  I'm concerned that Russians may try to get to Cohen.

            Hi Diane, I think he should have been truthful. That doesn't mean I think we were owed a voluntary announcement - just for 'full disclosure', but when asked the question, I think he should have been truthful.
            
            I suppose the next important question is whether he was. Cohen's statements may or may not answer that question.

               He should have been honest that he was still pursuing his business which included trying to build a hotel in Russia.  THIS is why he wouldn't say anything against Putin.
               
               Well, next week more information will come out when reasons for sentencing of Manfort are presented.
               
               That MBS creep really got to me smiling and grinning and high fiving with Putin.
               
               Hopefully, Mueller will wind down soon.  We will see what happens to Corsi (creator of the birther myth and lie on Seth Rich) and Roger Stone.

                  So Michael Cohen pleads guilty to charges of lying to Congress. Keep in mind what Cohen did and did not say.
                  
                  After 70 hours of grilling by Mueller’s prosecutors — holding over his head a potentially lengthy sentence on his unrelated crimes in the taxi business and on his tax returns — what Cohen left out may be more important than what he said.
                  
                  If Cohen didn’t admit to something, under all that pressure, then we can probably take it to the bank that it didn’t happen. Mueller’s pressure and harassment are — in that respect — a kind of lie detector test.
                  
                  Here’s what Cohen did not say:
                  
                  While he admitted to lying to Congress concerning the date of his various business transactions in Russia, he did not say that Trump told him to lie. Cohen, an experienced attorney used to protecting Trump’s interests, likely realized that admitting that he had business dealings on Trump’s behalf with the Russians during or immediately before or after the election, might lead to other questions, so he lied about it and pre-dated the questions. But he did so on his own. What does that have to do with Trump?
                  
                  He did not indicate that Russia was offering any special break to Trump out of the ordinary that could be construed as a bribe or payoff.
                  
                  He did not, in any way, confirm the role attributed to him by the famous dossier that led to the entire investigation of Trump.
                  
                  He did not admit to ever going to Prague or the Czech Republic for any reason, a central claim of the dossier.
                  
                  He did not admit to knowing either of the men identified in the dossier as having coordinated with him to plan to hack the DNC computer.
                  
                  He did not admit to arranging to pay off the hackers, as the dossier says he did.
                  
                  Mueller came up empty. He now has enough to put Cohen away for lying but not enough to make a case that Trump was involved or that he did anything that could be considered an impeachable offense.
                  
                  All Mueller has done is find three instances of limited criminality that has earned slaps on the wrist of several weeks in jail. He has indicted a list of Russians who are not in our jurisdiction and probably never will be.
                  
                  Mueller has come up empty!

                     The dossier?  I don't think the dossier is a key component here.  I could be very wrong because I have no idea of what is going on.
                     
                     The $50 million? condo as a gift to Putin is an offer of a bribe.
                     
                     For Mueller to know that Manafort has been lying, he obviously has irrefutable evidence to prove it.  An explanation is supposed to come out in court next week.  Probably Gates is providing a lot of information.
                     
                     Michael Flynn turned witness and was sentenced.  He should know whether or not money was transferring between accounts.  We don't know what he has told Mueller.
                     
                     The whole point is ... we don't know what we don't know.

                        The much-hyped Obama intelligence report that determined “Vladimir Putin ordered” Hillary Clinton’s campaign emails hacked and leaked “to help Trump’s chances of victory” has been accepted as gospel among DC punditry and given the investigations besieging the Trump presidency their legs.
                        
                        To date, no evidence has publicly emerged to corroborate the report, and the reason may have a lot to do with that sketchy dossier bought and paid for by Clinton.
                        
                        Suspiciously, Barack Obama’s Intelligence Community Assessment matches the main allegations leveled by the Clinton-paid dossier on Trump, which wormed its way into intelligence channels, in addition to the FBI, Justice Department and State Department, during the 2016 campaign.
                        
                        In fact, the shady dossier makes exactly the same claim — that Putin personally “ordered” the cyberattacks on the Clinton campaign and leaked embarrassing emails to “bolster Trump,” as part of “an aggressive Trump support operation.” Like Obama’s ICA, Clinton’s dossier provides no concrete evidence to back up the claim.
                        
                        My point is you don't know a lot! You obviously only have input from fake news MSM. The dossier was used as THE reason for the entire collision investigation. There may or may not be alot we don't know but you are clueless about what we do know.

                           What do you know to be a fact?  I know that the investigation is zeroing in on Corsi (creator of the birther movement) and Roger Stone, their telephone and email discussions of the emails and the timing of email releasing in relationship to the discussion.
                           
                           I admit I don't know what I don't know.  Is there something you know to be fact?  Something you know to be false?
                           
                           I am an intelligent, reasonable person who looks at facts and evidence when they are corroborated.  It should be the people we hate are wrong and the people we like are right. 
                           
                           How does this turn into an attock on me and what I accept as true?

                              You say it should be the people we hate are wrong and the people we like are right? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt you mis spoke there which tells me once again you aren't paying attention and to play the personal attack card when I never did such is just another sign that you don't know what you are talking about. If you expect anyone to believe pointing out the flaws in your thinking and comments is a personal attack then there is no sense in even engaging you with the facts. You will never find the truth about Cohen and this whole Mueller investigation if you use the MSM as your only source and it's obvious by the misinformation you believe that's where you get your "facts". You want to know the truth listen to Rush starting at 26:15 on this clip and then ask yourself why you have not heard anything he says in the MSM.                                  I listened to Rush's spin based on Giuliani.  Something has happened to Giuliani.  He is not the competent officer of the court he once was.. 
                                 
                                 I don't read all of anyone's comments that are extended and off topic..  The truth is what is irrefutable.  If MSM were lying, they would go out of business..  I realize punditss put their spin/interpretation on the facts - ALL MEDIA.  Rush is a spinmaster as iare Chris Hayes, Don Lemon and others who have talk shows..                                  Flynn has pleaded guilty..
                                 Manafort has been convicted and has more charges..
                                 Popadopoulas was convicted and is serving 14 days
                                 Gates pleaded guilty and made a deal
                                 He fired an AG that was doing everything he wanted other than getting rid of Mueller
                                 He circumvented protocol to make a hack acting AG
                                 All of that is fact and much more
                                 
                                 I'm hearing, with my own ears, as Trump sends messages to Manafort, Corsi and Stone about his appreciation for what they are doing..  He's trying to have Cohen's wife and father charged and put in jail..  This is all fact.
                                 
                                 If he has done nothing wrong, he should let the process play out..
                                 
                                 For the past 4/5 years I have discussed topics with people who have differing views..  Because we are all intelligent, we can even laugh a little during discussions.
