   How do I make more money on Hubpages than I am now?

      You have to write articles about topics that people are searching for. Identify your best articles and use them as guidance to similar subjects. More traffic = more money.

         Exactly what she said. After a while, constantly looking over my stats, I realized, 'Hey, I seem to do well on this topic, and not so well on these other topics. My direction seems clear, if I'm interested in earning.'
         
         It's still good to try writing about things other than what you do best at, but it's best, I think, to have a primary focus or niche.

      In addition to what Bev has said, you should also make a concerted effort to get more of your articles published on the niche sites. You have over 100 published articles, yet only a handful of them have been moved over. You should notice an increase in traffic, just by doing this.

         This is a bit off topic but I am wondering if it is necessary to place text on photos if you want to use them on Pinterest.  I've been told this is the right way to do it, but wanted to see what you think.

            In my experience yes. People want to know instantly what your page is about. You only have a millisecond to grab their attention and words usually convey the message more clearly than images can.

      After taking a quick look at your profile page one thing I would suggest would be to spend some time writing eye catching titles.  "Child Meatballs" is not going to attract readers but "My Mother's Secrtr Recipe for Making the Most Delicious Chili Meatballs" is going to incite interest.Remember that the title is the fist thing a reader sees, so if it doesn't lure him to the article, he's not going to read it!  More views equal more money.

      Pinterest is a great source of traffic.  Try to make the food images in particular visually beautiful.

   Marketing Merit´s suggestion on getting your articles moved from HP to a niche site is very important. I just looked at your vegetarian spaghetti recipe and then compared it to some of the others that have never been moved. What a difference. The ingredient lists are not listed in bullet form, no nutritional information, etc. Take a look at some of the most popular articles on Delishably.
   You should also do the same for articles on Feltmagnet. Your crochet articles should not be on HP but they will need to be edited.
   FInally, theraggededge´s suggestion should help you a lot. There is probably never that much traffic for book reviews on this site, so if you want to earn more you need to focus on a subject that will do better.

   All amazing tips here. Using the title suggestion by TT2 and Susanas Pinterest idea would work really well.
   
   But if you want organic traffic where people have not seen an image of the food yet, something on the lines of Quick, Easy and Delicious Chili Recipe would catch my eye among other pages when I search for a chili recipe. But for it to rank up there (not a guarantee but a higher probability) you will have to get it moved to a niche site.

   The suggestions are great, follow them. Writing for the Internet and HP is structured writing. It is a system of nomenclature that you need to know to be successful. Learn that as best you can and write. Study the guidelines, edit or write an article, and study the guidelines again.
   I recommend working on your old articles while writing new ones. Keep learning and write or edit some more.
   Find out about SEO and see how you can add that to your existing and new articles.
   Visit this forum often and read posts like this one. 
   Set a goal for yourself. What do you want to achieve from HP? A payout every month? Secondary income? Gas money? Work toward that goal. Niche sites are important and submit to them every two weeks, that is HP's time frame. 
   Keep at it, it takes time, but it's worth it.
