HubPro editing mistake?

So I have a hub about a missing person that had a few minor edits from the Hub Pro and they "Fixed" something and changed a fact about the case. I haven't noticed this in any other article I've written. I'm worried that I might have missed any other facts they might have changed. I mean, they changed 'two months' to 'two weeks' in a certain sentence. That's a big time difference!! I don't get why they changed it but I'll need to change it back.
So just wondering if anybody else had any issues like this before?

Editors are not 100% perfect and errors can, and do, happen.  If it should be two months then change it back to two months.

I would let them know and fix the mistake yourself.

I've had horrible experiences with the editors.  They didn't just change things, they deleted facts and added information that I had no idea where they got the information.  I ended getting rid of all of their changes and going back to my original.  My advice is to go over any hubs that the editors work on with a fine tooth comb.

Yes, inconsistencies in editing leave writers wondering...even about motives. I know I make mistakes and need to pay close attention, but the funniest change on one of mine so far was badly rewording a sentence and ending it with, "...., see?" I'm still laughing (because there's no use in crying over who might've seen it), but really?!  The last problem I found read like an oriental person trying to write English without learning how. Maybe HP is being hacked? It's irritating to know I need to go back and check for this kind of thing, but evidently we're all in the same boat. It's good to have this discussion going since the powers that be can learn from it too, but rather than trying to find editorial mistakes I'd rather just work on my own!

I concur with both wilderness and Kierstin.

Don't assume they know what they are doing. Your hub is your responsibility, always check it thoroughly after any editing.

I did notice that they seem to remove quite a few Amazon Ads. In fact, I only noticed it today because someone read my hub and asked for the book mentioned! I had to add it again.

I appreciate the hard work the editors do, but as Nell said, they're removing Amazon links (as well as editing facts?). I just had a link removed that I was making regular sales off of and was relevant to the article. I ended up putting it back in.

I know they mean well, but I think that some of the standards for editing HP articles are dated and irrelevant and yes, it's resulting in mistakes in the editing process.

If you are  going to put Amazon ads back you should contact them and explain why they are necessary (and because they are making sales won't be good enough). They snip Amazon links because they consider them spammy, and if you put them back you risk having them remove your hub from the niche site, or even unpublishing it.

Amazon products need to be specifically mentioned in the article, and you need to talk about your personal experience with the product and why it's better than other similar products.

Hi Sherry, yes and yes with mine. It was a book that I had bought concerning face exercises. I explained it all and wrote a review of the book in the Ad. They still took it out! And the reader wanted it.

I will add to what Sherry said that the product being advertised needs to be the topic of the hub.  Either that or something unusual or hard to find that is necessary to do what the hub is describing.  A specific kitchen utensil, perhaps, necessary for the recipe that is the actual topic.

(And if I misunderstood your comment that you wrote a review in the Ad when the hub was a review of the book, I apologize.)

I did email them, but haven't received a reply yet. I think they should rethink some of their affiliate link rules. I understand not being spammy, and for the most part when they've removed Amazon links from my articles it made sense and ultimately made the article better.

I get that the editors are only human but the more they edit my articles, the more I noticed inconsistencies in editing. One article will be perfectly fine with my use of certain abbreviation like lbs instead of pounds then the next one will change it to pounds instead. (just as a simple reoccurring edit I've noticed) Other times they have taken out full capsules or sections when I explain why some info is conflicting or even when I made a notice that my article might be unsettling to some due to the nature of the crime/missing incident. I do go over all my articles that have been 'edited" and luckily most of them are just simple spelling changes or switching words around to make the sentences sound better but some of these BIG changes are really annoying me.
I won't stop posting on Hub Pages but if they are going to screw with certain articles this much I might as well not even TRY to make them sound good. <-- this is how they make me feel like what is the point?
