This hilarious article said Medium was a better site to write for because you have to write hundreds of articles to reach payout. This is hilarious, because I've seen people with less than 50 articles with millions of views. It all depends on what you're writing about.
Subscription services are also not as reliable as everyone thinks, look what's happening with Netflix with all the big companies taking back their stuff, people will unsub Netflix and sub somewhere else.
You don't necessarily have to write hundreds of articles, it all depends on traffic, this person wants to do next to no work and rake in the money, this article is a joke:

Interesting rant. I'm not familiar with Medium but this person certainly sounds happier there. They make a few legit points about HP but I rolled my eyes at a few bits, too.
What "exploitation?" Nobody's holding a gun to anyone's head, making them write "hundreds" of articles. There are peeps here (sadly, I'm not one of them) who are making regular bank with only a few dozen pieces.
It would be swell if all you had to do to succeed here was post your stuff and then wait for the internet to beat a path to your door. Unfortunately not all of us have ninja level SEO skills to make that happen.
In all my time as an "online writer" I've always kept my monetary expectations low. Therefore I'm rarely disappointed. It took a while and a lot of silly/stupid mistakes but I've finally reached a point here where writing heavy metal gibberish gets me some beer and pizza money every other month or so. I'm personally fine with that, but I know there are a lot of other folks who wouldn't be.
I can sympathize with this bit cuz I'm in the same boat -- I mainly review music and/or movies. However, in recent months I have all but given up posting movie reviews on HP, because after they get moved to ReelRundown get no traffic juice whatsoever. My music stuff performs better, so that's where I've been concentrating my energies.
Can't argue with this. That new scrolling strip of "related hubs" in particular is irritating as hell.
I have never encountered this phenomenon in the 8 years I've been posting here. Anyone else?
Did this person miss the memo that said you can turn the Q&A feature off entirely? I got rid of that s**t within the first week.
I could go on but the dog is whining at the door for his morning constitutional. Duty calls....

So I've been on Medium for a year and Hubpages for six years (my second time). I've come to the conclusion that they can benefit each other.I have twice now earned quite a bit more on hubpages as a result of an article on Medium. A few days ago, I posted a link to one one of my hubpage articles,...

I was just curious for those of you who write for Medium and/or Substack, how your earnings compare to what you make on Hubpages. Do you think it's worthwhile writing for these sites? I look forward to everyone's insight. Thank you.

I’d like to start by explaining that my articles are all published to niche sites except one which is still pending consideration. I’ve edited and revamped these articles to death. I’ve waited for these changes to kick in despite that, less than 30 views per day on some that seem to perform on a...

Hey fellow writers, I finally did it. I can now say I write on two platforms: HubPages and Medium! I published my first article today. I've been getting the daily articles for about 2 years but never made the time to become a writing member. I'm glad to be in the company of those who encouraged me...

So what's happening here?I'm guessing that various web publishers have suddenly realized how much money is to be made through writers. Make no mistake, they wouldn't be putting up these websites or offereing money (and when people are offering $25,000 prizes), there's money in it for them.I also...

Hey all! Does anyone have any success writing for other websites? I'm finding that my views on my articles are up (it's all hair stuff, and everyone is doing their hair at home across the world), but my earnings are going down further and further. As we know, the Amazon issue isn't helping... Here's...
