Getting Into the Routine

   How do you guys get into a steady writing routine? Between working fill time and going to school, it feels like getting into a steady routine is darn near impossible. By the end of the day I'm more exhausted than anything else. Any suggestions?

      You don't need a steady writing routine.  In fact, having one is counter productive.  You should write a bit at a time at times when you are relaxed and not exhausted. Write on a word processor, edit and then post...all at different times.  The juices have to be flowing if you want to produce good work that will also produce income. Otherwise, you won't succeed.

      Cut your cloth accordingly for now. Persist, produce quality, learn from others and the HP learning center.Took me a good few years to really get going on Hp but now I'm on a mission - 2 articles a week if I can manage it. One short, one long.

   Finding a routine is a personal thing.  Every writer uses the method that feels comfortable for them.  That routine can change, too. 
   You sound like a productive person with a job and school schedule. I am sure you can find time to write, too. Do you write school papers or essays?  You might want to consider turning those into articles for HubPages. The research and words are already down.
   I read about other successful authors like King, Gaiman, and Gabaldon. Gabaldon, for instance, worked a full-time job, had three kids, and wrote from midnight to 4 AM. She slept from 9 - midnight and from 4 AM until she had to get up to go to work.  Once Gabaldon became successful, she quit her day job and continues to write midnight to 4 AM, giving her drafts to her husband to read because he is an early riser.  He reviews them while his wife sleeps.
   The point is you will make the routine if you want to be a good writer and earn revenue through HubPages program.  Writing is doing. So, write when you can, and the method will come, soon you will have a routine.  Good luck!
