Iowa native is sentenced to 15 years in jail for burning an LBGT flag

   According to various sources, a man from Iowa, by the name of Adolfo Martinez, stole an LBGT flag that was hanging off a local church, and then burned the flag after he stole it.  He made no denials of this incident, and he's actually rather proud of his actions, as he doesn't feel the church should support the LBGT community considering it's a house of worship.

   While I'm all for freedom of speech, this guy takes it too far, as I don't condone this man's actions in the slightest, and I'd have to question the morality of anyone who does.  Anyways, what are your thoughts on this?  Is he a hero to you?  Or an arrogant pompous ass?  Please discuss.

      Just for term sake. Jail is Useally a temporary time in a cell or a holding tank up to a year for trial for prison. They treat you far worst in prison than in a jail.

      The world is full of different criminals who need to be executed! It's scary to live, it's scary for children. The other day, I came across the site where there are photos of criminals and now I know at least them about in the face that I would bypass the side. But the last week all the photos disappeared, I think they have technical problems.

   I think he's an intolerant jerk. It's one thing to purchase a product to publicly destroy it, in order to make a point. It's another to rip it out of the possession of another. In order to destroy it.
   
   His behavior doesn't qualify as free speech.

   I say both. The man does not understand there is a scientific proof of a homosexual gene in humans, no God gene. So that is an offense and breaks natures law, which most natives Useally follow
   
   If the state can lock a man up for 15 years for burning a piece of cloth. Why not lock up many Christains for 15 years for hating gays. Every state by Christians try to convert gays with a 98% failures rate, meaning it's more harm than good and unethical. If the state won't pay for these gay conversations, then you can't lock them up.  When the state is dominated by Judeo/Christains. It makes them great hypocrites and injust and won't foot the bill and they make money on prison cheap labour.
   
   Richard Dawkins a world champion Atheist stated Nationism is more dangerous than Religion. Just another example of an injustice system. They want your Christains votes and money is their true God.

         Once you know he got locked up just for just burning a flag, that's not good enough.  Being a part time investigator it was worth bringing him in for examination because their were 22 transexual murders in the areas. If they charged him with any of that, then they have good reason to lock him up for a long time.

            The link I followed indicated he was charged for a hate crime + "reckless burning" or some such - I interpret that to mean that he icould have started a major fire with his carelessness.  In addition he is a repeat offender (don't know how many times) so the sentence increased.

      You can't push a theory as fact. Different research has given different theories. No scientist has discovered a'gay gene' where other research hasn't debunked it.
      
      We need to let people be what they want to be and stop trying to justify choices with junk science.

         US Government and their prisons want conflicts. That is why prisons have grown 10 times in the last 40 years. It's a double dip profit from tax payers and Corporation-ism bidding wars for cheap prisoners labourer. Sure they pay scientists to prove no gay gene just like schedule 1 marijunna that they made a killing from. They make many of Christains happy for some illlegal gay marriage or marijauna states as it is against the constitution and natural law. Still the collective consciousness of the people always win out in the end from the total backward Government.

               It has got to do with injustice profiteering, racism profile and why 25% of the world's population of prisoners are in US prisons cell.
               
               I will give the gay flag church money back of $150 out of my own pocket. If it saves the man from 15 years of prison.
               Investigator agency have used me to scare theives straight. I will warn him if he does it again, I won't give another $150 and he will be forced to live in a cage for 15 years. Iowa law for money or property damage is only a $50 to $500 or 30 days in jail. You steal their car and crash it. It's max $10,000 and from one to Five years in jail. If he works one week on minimum wage he can pay them back and it ruined nobodies life. Rather than ruining his life with sucide or learning a worst crime in prison or giving his slave labor to the greedy Corporation-ism. A waste of Life over greed and stupidity.
               
               I married an Aztec I know how to handle dockey natives. Natives die guicker in prison than anyone, freedom is most important. For sure the local justice system are the biggest jackass of all. This wound not happen in Canada because we are too nice and reasonable.

                  I'd rather see an habitual offender treated roughly than see some of the crap going on in Canada bleeding down here. Like the Canadian guy with male body parts suing poor immigrant women in a human rights court for not playing with those body parts.

                     There are some mentally ill people in Canada too. I can't make heads or tails of what you are talking about. I only got far as sue, and no mention of sentence.
                     
                     From living in the US for a decade and being a part-time investigator. I can tell you Canada in general is not nearly extreme. The justice system and police are generally more honesty and most fair to race and citizens.
                     
                     Although sometimes they treat series killers like they are in a holiday camp. Luckily there are very few of them.
