What makes you believe in Evolution?

Eyes that look around us and see it happening every day.  Particularly as we can force "artificial" evolution (evolution of species by intentionally changing it's environment).

What makes you believe in an invisible, undetectable ET from another universe that creates each new species as it arrives?

It is widely accepted in our religion that days translates to periods. There were a total of six periods during which the universe was created. Each day refers to a significant event that took place during the universe's creation. The reason it's not "days" is because the concept of days wasn't even established until we humans established it ourselves.

And the reason it's written as days in the religious books is because is because explaining the whole concept of the creation of the universe to people back then would be impossible. We know how the universe was created and how long it took because we had centuries of research available. Our ancestors didn't. So they needed a simpler interpretation. We believe in the Big Bang and evolution. We just believe that there's a higher force driving it all.

I understand that many Christians no longer accept that their scripture means what it says; that it means something far different, that the change in belief has occurred because, just as you say, we have learned better.

But the question remains unanswered; why do you believe there is a "higher force" (that most name "God") driving it all.  We have exactly zero evidence to support that belief; why is held as Truth, then?
