Isn't this sweet, morally?- "Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war."
Qur'an:9:5
Howdy Brahma. It is nice to meet you.
Here is more sweet morality to ponder:
“If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death.” (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)
“everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.” (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)
“Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel.” (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)
“You should not let a sorceress live.” (Exodus 22:17 NAB)
"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)
“A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death.” (Leviticus 20:27 NAB)
“Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death.” (Exodus 21:15 NAB)

Read the Bible first before passing judgment on the Qur'an. The Bible is just as screwed up.
BrahmaEgg,
Quran is the perfect book of God so We can not deny it but it is not sweet. As far as the Bible is concerned. It also refers towards the Last messenger. You may read the Luca's. I hope that you will consider.
@it correction...1.5 billion believe quran is perfect book of god , like 2 billion believe bible is perfect book of god...believe has nothing to do with truth or false...it is mere believe...
What problem can anyone have with what other people believe? Look into your own life, and it will turn out to be a more artistic/intuitive journey, than a reasoned out gameplan. Go figure. Not good to come out and say bad on religion. Grow up, dude.
@love no prob as long as that belief is not imposed as truth on others...there r people who believe aliens created humans ...they r entitle to have that belief...like people believe muhammad is messenger or jesus is god ...as long as that believes empowers them , its perfectly ok in my view...
Sounds good. But they may like to raise their children with that belief, and may try to influence neighbors to join their party. Can't say that's not good. That a God created the world is much more sensible than the theory of evolution, to some people. Go try to re-edit your school text books in India, and see how strong an opposition you face.
Ridiculously, the theory of evolution is just a more complicated belief. And you teach that theory like a revelation. Whom you're blaming, dude?
@love text in India are fortunately not influenced by religion...it cannot be...as mark twain said India is cradle to civilization...in such diversed country , which theory of creation to be taught?...bible one or veda one or quran one?...secondly evolution myth as u said is being endrosed by 90% scientist of the world...it still happens...even if we view how human civilizations operate we find fundamental principals of evolution in it...
does that nullify god?..NO...religion and god are two different things...
Am i blaming?..nope...i am fine if people believe super man too...I just am not fine when they come and impose it...
You don't see the irony of your own moves, brother. Your country (the regime or whatever) imposes the theory of evolution on the innocent minds of its children. I have an idea of your biology books, and they all agree as if evolution is a proven fact. You yourself endorse that confidence.
Isn't that a belief? Aren't you imposing a theory as if it is an established fact? And whom are you gulling, anyway? Good God! You are corrupting little people who haven't yet developed any critical thinking.
The theory of evolution has been endorsed by 90% scientists of the world? What a joke, fellow! You gave me a good laugh! Well, all the Imams, and Christian priests and even your Brahmins will tell you that there is a Higher Power, likely God. Does that prove God's existence?
The theory of evolution has still not been proven to be true. Get real brother. You are condemning in others what you do yourself.
@love isnt that belief...answer is no...it is proof based ....there is not tangible proof of god...evolution has proof...fossils etc...we can discuss this in another thread...
belief is something which comes without proof...like jesus was god...there is no proof in that...science never approaches like that...it comes with theory and back with proof and science is open to correction...if its theory is proven wrong , science wont blow others off...
theory of evolution has been proven to be most consistent theory till date...faith based theories has never backed itself with proof...so they r beliefs...
The theory of evolution has been endorsed by 90% scientists of the world? What a joke, fellow! You gave me a good laugh! Well, all the Imams, and Christian priests and even your Brahmins will tell you that there is a Higher Power, likely God. Does that prove God's existence?
has any imam or priest or brahmin come up with tangible proof like scientist have...u can approach any evolutionist scientist and demand proof which u can urself see...not some concepts which faiths float...
again theory of evolution doesnot disapprove god, it disapprove religion...there is nothing new in it...religions keep coming and going...still there r 400 religions and as time passes we would have more coming in...
I guess we should discuss greek one...thats something v agree at
Well, I have been interested by the fact that you think imposing belief on another is unacceptable, and you do that yourself.
Proof of God's existence? Ok, anyone spiritual, I mean truely spiritual person, may take you to places where you may directly realize God. It's upto you whether you would take that seriously or not. I am willing to take 'the theory of evolution' seriously, and I may wish the same standard from you. Evidence may come in many forms, not only in fossils.
The theory of evolution. Well, it means that species evolve, right? Where is any evidence of that evolving? All that they show is fossils of existing species, but they never presented any fossil that represents a species which is in the process of evolving into another species.
Several times they tried to provide the evidence of the 'missing links'. They were caught immediately as frauds.
All in all, you are in no better position than the believers. In your case, you like to believe story provided by a 'scientist', instead of a religious one. Anyway, good laughs.
@love
where did i reject idea of god...i am merely saying none since humans began to think none could give any tangible , observable prove which can be measured...does that mean god doesnot exist?...nope...
i am not imposing...if u dont agree i am ok...i wont condemn u to hell or try to convert u...i am merely saying that science floats theory , then comes up with observation and proof...now long before we held theory that everything revolves around earth...now someone came up with opposition theory...and proved it ...science stood corrected...
that is right approach according to me...thats my only point...
theory of evolution is among various theory...why science backs it is because it is most consistent till date..no other theory has come closer to consistency of evolution...if it is proven wrong , it would stand corrected...in fact scientist would be first to acknowledge that...in end it is for growth of human race ..
When statement comes that x or y or z is book from god...then one needs to back with proof or stand corrected..unfortunately that doesnot happen in religion...
if u look at jews or vedas , they had similar approach...they come up with theory , observe and even dare to stand corrected...hindu sages had very scientific approach...
religious books too r theories...they need to be observed, proven and even stand corrected...if one stand on absolute position room for correction is zero...
science claims evolution is most consistent theory , if someone has better theory which they can show some tangible proof, science would be glad to stand corrected and take human race forward...
Good post. My point is, and this is indeed precise, which is, does science have any evidence to back up the 'theory of evolution'? If not, then you have no right to indoctrinate anyone (the school kids in India, especially) with that theory. It's equal, if not more, to the process of indoctrinating a person into the theory of God or whatever else supernatural there is.
I know science do not have any evidence of evolution. All it can show is proof of adaptation. That's different.
You condemn religion that it teaches a theory which has no evidence.
In your case, you are day by day teaching a theory (who knows how many such) which has no evidence whatsoever. I am just not going to the fact that you have not seen them yourself. Come on face to face, you are religious, and your creed is the most incredible in the world, it's called faith in whatever 'scientists' say.
@love we can go on and on ...does science have sufficient proof to reasonably conclude and back evolution theory...Answer is yes and no science community had been able to produce counter of evolution theory which had sufficient reason to get adopted...
does religious claim have any proof...answer to that question is NO...none have been able to proof anything...right from soul to heaven/hell....
Science indoctrination would make people search , observe, look and see proof to make their mind...Religious indoctrination would be follow blindly some books which contradict each other...
Where future of human race lies is debatable...but if u ask me personally i would like to encourage people to have inquiring mind and challenge even books called sacred..
Well, interestingly, in the end we all want to know the truth, the truth how humans came into this world, to the origin of life itself, and the origin of cosmos.
Religion doing bullshit doesn't allow your creed, which is faith on science, to do bullshit. You have no idea where a faith of your magnitude can lead a person. You ( the regime actually) is indoctrinating gullible fellows with a belief, the theory of evolution. which is even more harmful than a belief that a God created everything.
You can easily break the spell that there is no God, it requires two seconds of reasoning. If you teach a child a highly sophisticated falsehood, like evolution, then it might take years to free oneself from its bondage. This bondage, ridiculously, can not be seen.
Science indoctrination is, in the end, indoctrination. You have a belief in science instead of religion. You have lost your objectivity. And no one will find it to be of interest to correct you, if you are unwilling to correct it yourself. Free will, the same that the Mollahs and the Clergy enjoy.

Is it possible to truly be religious as well as believe in the evidence of science with theories such as evolution, the Big Bang and dinosaurs existing prior to man not along side? (Please keep it clean and civil guys, thank you.)

A lot of skeptics made the following logical fallacy:Skeptics: Can you prove that God exists? if not, then you are illogical if you believe in a God that you can't prove to be existing! This is the fallacy of "False Delimma" Just because you can't prove a theory or belief, doesn't mean...

Many believers like to say that Atheists should prove that there is no God. Believers should know that existence has to be proved, not the non-existence. If a thing exists, it is possible to prove its existence. So believers should prove the existence of God if he exists. But if they want to do it,...

With all the evidence for the theory of evolution, why do some people still believe otherwise.Once you have got your head around the theory of evolution, it's pretty obvious that it's close to how it must work. After all, animal breeders do the same thing when they selectively breed their stock....
