Huge Influx of traffic in my stats from this source: Newsbreakapp.com

My new article just got accepted to PetHelpful, and I know it’s normal to get extra traffic after moving from Discover, but I’ve never seen daily traffic like this before.  I checked my stats, and a large percentage is coming from an outside source using Newsbreakapp.com.  The funny thing is that the only thing I’ve done to promote myself is share my article to Facebook and Pinterest, which has zero response.

So, my question is, does Maven team up with or submit our featured articles to this news platform or does anyone know if the said platform searches for credible articles to share?  Another question.  The Newbreakapp platform obviously seems to work given the sudden influx of traffic (over 280 hits) from my stats, so is this a legit option to use for traffic?  I see it's a content creator platform, but also a news source which leads me to believe that someone is using my article as reference with a link, but I have yet to locate the actual source.  Looking for feedback from anyone who has experienced this traffic source in their stats.  Thanks.

Newsbreak is a writing site that many Medium writers are joining.  I'm guessing that someone posted a link to your article.

Well, I’m grateful. If it’s a viral thing then hopefully that will help my placement in the search engines since it’s a fairly new article.  We shall see.  Never had these kind of numbers before on an article so I’m elated. Thanks for your feedback.  Blessings

Newsbreak has featured quite a few of my articles, and most of them almost as soon as they were posted. The traffic doesn't last for long, maybe a few days, and the impressions do not come close to meeting the traffic numbers from newsbreak. Not really sure of why they choose the articles they do, either, because those they have chosen from my collection are all vastly different, and mostly irrelevant.

Thanks for sharing.  Even so I’m getting temporary exposure and that’s nice.  It’s  at 1500 hits and seemingly still climbing.  We shall see
