Equations in HubPages Articles

   HubPages already provides a "code" section or snippet to add code in our articles. However, there are hundreds of articles that can be classified or categorized as Science and are in desperate need of a way to typeset equations. Articles related to Mathematics require this feature as well.
   
   And yet, we have no way of typesetting equations in articles. No LaTeX support, no special character support, and no other shortcut. The only way I can think of is to write the equation on your system and take a screenshot.
   
   What do you guys think? Shouldn't we have typesetting support?

   Yes, but it's probably way down the priority list of things that need to be done. Even Medium doesn't have a means of allowing writers to create equations in edit mode. In fact the basic editing facilities on Hubpages are superior to those on Medium in many ways. For instance capsules can be moved around, we can add superscripts and subscripts and can also make tables. There are online equation editors and you can also use the Equation Editor in Word and just copy and paste the image.

      You're right. It most definitely is way down the priority list.
      I cannot say for medium since I haven't tried posting there yet. Either way, copy pasting the image certainly works, especially for the limited usage scenario of most HubPages articles.
      
      Just out of curiosity, you specifically mentioned superscript and subscript. Do you mean to tell me Medium does not have that?

         It's only possible to add superscripts for numerals 0 to 9 (by typing the caret character "^" followed by the numeral.)  For alphabetical characters and symbols, it's necessary to use the appropriate code for the character or copy and paste it from another document/online page (for both superscripts and subscripts). Also not all characters are available:

            That's such a strange thing to hear. Especially considering how much Medium is used for technical articles.
