Until he can prove his durability, it's safe to say that Bynum is VERY or even EXTREMELY overrated. How can a guy be useful if he is always rolling on the floor, grabbing at his torn knee ligaments screaming in pain? Oh and now, this guy's got a shoulder injury. Maybe Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford learned how to grimace in pain from Bynum?????
I agree to an extent with the Bynum statements about his lingering injuries, but lets face it. Now a days, durable athletes are a rare comodity. This is what happens when you go against the best athletes in the world and force your body to push the limits. Some are just luckier then other but there is one thing you cannot take away from Bynum and that is HEART! I AM FAR from a Laker fan but untill you know what it is like to go threw multiple re habs and continiously get pushed back because of another injury, you cannot really comment. His work ethic and passion for the game( when he is healthy) is phenominal especially for a person who has been dealt so many tough come backs with injuries!
Tracy McGrady, he's done for. The Rockets should trade him for young blood. And, yes, I am a huge Rockets fan being from Houston, TX.
Yao is also done for next season and possibly his career and oh, let's not forget that Artest bolted for the Lakers. This gives the Lakers: Bryant, Fisher, Gasol, Odom AND Artest. Who will beat the Lakers in the upcoming season if they don't beat themselves by turnovers and Kobe being selfish. He clearly learned that lesson. On the other hand, Ariza, who Houston got for Artest, HAS NEVER AVERAGED DOUBLE FIGURESS IN 6 NBA SEASONS and HE will have to carry the Rockets by himself next season with Yao out and McGrady uncertain.
while the evolution of "team" continues, thanks in no small part to those overpriced and overpaid players (thanks to the fans who buy into and support the concept), i'll stick with the spurs. barring injury, they could possibly give the lakers, or any other team, all they can handle in the playoffs. two exceptions: popovich doesn't repeat his brain-fart performance of last season, and bonner stays on the bench.
the purity of sport is exemplified in duncan's quiet leadership and is a pleasure to watch. win or lose.
Considering 5 of the top 10 highest paid players are Jermaine O'Neal, Allen Iverson, Stephon Marbury, Tracy McGrady, and Baron Davis, I'm going to say that Andrew Bynum doesn't even come close to the most overpaid and certainly not overrated in what he is capable of doing. Yes, it's unfortunate and disappointing (for Lakers fans) that he could not participate in the playoffs due to injuries the past two seasons, but I have to agree absolutely with Ryan; Guys don't get enough credit for working back into top performance after serious injuries - let alone multiple serious injuries - like that. It is depressing and demoralizing for a player to go through. If there was any question if he was worth the price when he is healthy, I think he answered that in his first game of the 2009-2010 season: 9-15 for 26 points and 13 rebounds. And he is just 22.
Most overrated in my opinion, Jermaine O'Neal and Jason Kidd both of these players made more money than Kobe Bryant for 2008-2009 season but what do they have to show for it. Jason Kidd at least tries, Jermaine O'Neal is the biggest bust in my opinion.
no, i think allen iverson is over rated and so is kobe bryant. people say kobe is the best player of all time, when in reality he isn't. good player, but he's not anywhere in michael's level.

I do believe that Ron Artist and Shawn Battier will freeze Kobe bryant in the 2nd round of west. Please share your comments.

I just can't see how you take less years and leave the premier franchise to go to the Rockets. Come on Dwight! I wonder if the Lakers will go get Bynum back.

So the Lakers ship Trevor Ariza to the Rockets for Ron Artest. By grabbing Artest off the free agent market, the Lakers are getting someone with good size, great instincts, not to mention a proven rebounder and defender while the Rockets are now stuck with Ariza, a guy who has never averaged double...

I am for 18 game season because as a fan of the game I would love to see more meaningful games, but the NFL has to agree with some of the demands made by the players. What are your thoughts?
