You have to be patient! You can't expect these problems inherited from the last administration to be fixed in a few months, or even one term!!! In fact Obama might need 3, 4, or even more terms to fix them!

You don't just "fundamentally Transform" a democracy overnight you know!

This is just the beginning of the pain! What is out on the horizon is economic disaster! High debt, high inflation, high energy bills, a weak dollar and continued high unemployment! The democrats are bankrupting this country, printing money in an effort to buy their way to permanent power!

I love it when you talk like this.  What makes you think the depression we were headed for wasn't going to happen if we did what you say?

What makes you think we're not in a depression now?

I love the logic of the left "it would have been worse if we did nothing"

          or

          "we saved 640,329 jobs"

Yeah, you can't prove a negative but you can certainly claim it as a positive!

What is so funny is your labels and affiliations that you spend so much time offering.  You really have no idea what to do but you sure think you can predict the future.  This economy is going to collapse someday anyway.  I never have stated othewise.  But you want to be so right by predicting it.  China already OWNS us and the dollar is being traded in for euros even as we speak.  Our jobs are gone to overseas slave labor and you want to tell me that Obama can't save us?  No one or any party can unless we stop the frantic ramblings about political parties and the partisan bickering you offer.

            1. profile image0
Poppa Bluesposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Partisan bickerings? I'm not offering that or anything else. I'm not in a position to offer anything, except my belief that if we eliminate regulation, reduce taxes and the size of government we can turn everything around. I don't care which party does it, I only know that freedom and common sense has to rule and that has been lacking in both parties. The democrats though lack more than common sense, they lack the fundamental principles of freedom. Now that's fine. That form of society has seen some limited success in Cuba and Venezuela, but it's not something that is going to work here.
You keep talking about labels, well "democrat" is a label, it's a marketing term designed to get people to buy something they don't want or need, socialism. The democrats should drop the label and accept what is an accurate description of what they are selling. Am I wrong?

Well your definition of freedom from regulation and reducing taxes and reducing government was the war cry for the last administration and it has been proven wrong by the collapse we saw beginning in early 2008 and currently has us in a recession.  No rocket science to that. Justify as you will but more of the same thing would be lunacy to follow and could finally break our backs. Your more of the same only harder is impossible to swallow and has failed. By blaming Obama for all the ills this has created is disengenuous.

And yes you are wrong! We cannot afford to continue proven failed policy.

Just parroting the party line again? Which of the Bush policies led to this downfall?
We all know the roots of the economic collapse were in the democrats legislation Fannie and Freddie Mac and the Community Re-investment Act Barney Frank and Bill Clinton espoused! No matter how you slice it, it was government interference in free markets that caused the collapse and you want more of it???

How about the tax breaks the Bushes gave their buddies and the lack of dealing with energy policies regarding the oil companies.  Really this is a waste of time going over and over the same things.  We did not get here in the last 11 months.  and no matter what you want to believe the past three administrations have passed it on down the line.  Clinton is just as much to blame as the others.  Your argument supposes that all government regulation is to blame for the fall and nothing will convince you otherwise. There is no objectivity in your thesis and is therefore too bias to make real.  But your supposition does not objectively take into account the difference between good, fair government and corrupt government and I think that is the fundamental truth we both do not see eye to eye on.  No my friend I do not deal in absolutes as human nature will set you up if you do.  You seem to have no problem with it and I think that is where you lose me.

Twist it anyway you want, your belief in your theories is not enough to win this one.  The poor lack of oversight caused these aberations and yes corrupt paid politicians were at the helm. It wasn't bad law it was bad people.
