Is putting links okay?

   Is it okay to put links after a comment?
   I wonder how many comments am I suppose to do before I can add a link to my hub...

      I think it's fine as long as the link is relevant to the comment and article commented on. I approve most of those.
      
      I did have one "interloper" pepper my hubs with about thirty comments made solely to promote some clothing site. I spent about an hour getting rid of them and reported the activity to HubPages. He's gone now.

   Check through the terms and FAQ's id you really want to know.
   
   You may already know that it is not considered proper to start a post to promote a link. It might be ok to post a link if you think it answers a question or pertains to the topic, but it could be better just to give a short answer and mention that you have written a hub on the subject to let people find it through your profile.

   I respect the process of "link free" commenting unless it provides real value to the comment.  In most cases it is unnecessary.

   Then that's the right way to use a link, because without saying it No one else can comment on it. I wouldn't make a habit out of it though.

   To me, posting a link to your work (or anything else) in a comment is a BIG no-no. I may be a bit old fashioned, but if you want to post a link and think it could be really helpful, then contact the author and ask permission first...and don't just inform them you are linking - ASK!
   
   I think we get a little casual sometimes and take for granted that our fellow hubbers will welcome our links. As with any web site, though, (which is what hub pages are - our interconnected web sites), it is only proper to ask permission before linking.
   
   Conduct like that online can get you flamed, or blacklisted from a site.
   
   Some hubbers don't mind, some do. To me, it's just a matter of maintaining polite relations.

   I think you need to consult the official rules first.  We ALL control what gets approved on our hubs so debating about whether it's "okay" or not doesn't matter.  Some people are real @$$holes and might not even let you post a comment if they don't like what you have to say so this whole discussion is moot.  (Granted, some people who comment can be @s$holes, too, to be fair.)  If the owner of the hub does want your comment or your link on his or her hub it will not get approved.

   Posting links that directly promote your own product or site or even previous hub can come across as a little self-centered.  Really as if you're only on here to promote your own stuff. The great thing about hubpages is the others-centered atmosphere.  There is a real desire to join in with a community of people who are trying to help one another.  So maybe a general question to ask yourself before posting a link is, "Am I looking to make my name great or to help a fellow hubber?"

   The funny thing is that this is a place where people write.  Everything is supposed to be in English and yet no one gets flagged or loses points because they can't even post a question or write a sentence in proper English.
   So I honestly find it hilarious when they worry about other things that have little if anything to do with writing.  Still, as I say, if someone doesn't want your link or even your comment on his or her hub he will delete it. 
   I also find it funny when people who are obviously here to make money (as opposed to just writing) want to judge others.

    If your links add value and relevancy to the post. Most links that people put in comments are very self serving and do not accomplish that.

    Even though I am into Affiliate Marketing, I dont agree on putting links on comments. If you are serious about making money online, there are so many ways to add alink to your site without looking spammy or resorting to low quality comments.
    
    As Dan Thies says and I agree with, the best way is to give something back to the online community
