If you are concerned about an issue like this then you really should consider emailing Admin rather than posting it at this stage. The advice you got from your Grandma was to help you weigh up your options before you jump (so you don't feel bad after you break your neck
)
As Jason has stated; there was another reason for the event. But if (as Crazed has said) it isn't the same party; then email Jas with your concerns directly - rather than posting. (Then you won't feel so bad and you don't increase the problem for the other party).
