          Misha,

Bored, me! Is that because I'm in a wheelchair and don't get out muck? Nah! I was curious.

Nah, we all get genuinely bored time to time, wheelchair independent. But surely I accept the curiosity, too smile

    Maybe they are fan dancers.

(BTW we don't have "fans" anymore.)

I bet if I were to hang my big nose over the northeast I would obtain many fans by keeping them dry from the rain - and I'm in Iowa!

You can become a fan...er...follower of someone because you enjoy what they have to say in the forums.

Besides, does it really matter? Do you think the number of followers accurately portrays a person's writing skills or personality appeal?

I'd like to see that number (followers) eliminated from the profile page. I think it's worthless and only adds to silly competition.

I agree.  The only use I have found is that you can view followers of someone who's hubs you are reading and can find similar likes and/or interests.  Still, it's like playing a chain game which isn't of much use.

Just in case, people missed it- there is the methodology of like-minded people, who like to share with one another and become friends???

Some of my fans/followers have also become readers of those who read me. smile

So, I don't see a problem with it and besides, who said this was a competition? There are some people who are here to just write and others are here to make money.

What difference does fans/followers have to do with the quality of the writer? ALOT!!!!!!!!!! Usually, experienced Hubbers are the ones who are filled with fans/followers, because the readers read their work.

        Just a thought. smile

You want followers? Post a few sexy pics on your profile page or use your hubs to do it. You'll have hundreds of fans and it will mean nothing.

And that's only one example of how it's done.

And yes, there is competition to have the most fans...er...followers. If that weren't true people wouldn't be congratulating someone because they reached a certain number.

It's like counting the number of valentines you got from other second graders.

I mean, come on. It's a worthless number that encourages silly competition.
